As humans living in modern times, since the advent of cell phones and other forms of wireless communication technology, we are exposed to the highest continuous levels of radiation since the beginning of our species. Many forms of radiation can have damaging effects on the cells, such as ionizing radiation from radioactive components found in nature as well as radiation from medical treatments and nuclear energy technology, and UV radiation from the sun itself. However, the newest, most pervasive and potentially the most harmful source of radiation we are exposed to on a daily basis is non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation.

Those who downplay or deny the harmful effects of EMFs are quick to point out that manmade electromagnetic fields are non-ionizing, which they claim does not do any harm if the intensity is too low to produce a heating effect in the tissue. They say that only ionizing radiation, such as gamma rays and x-rays, which operate at a high enough frequency to instantly ionize atoms and disrupt chemical bonds in the cells of living organisms, can cause harm.

The truth is that ionizing and non-ionizing is a largely imaginary distinction. All radiation exists on a spectrum, and lower frequencies are certainly capable of breaking cell bonds and causing DNA damage over time, just not as instantly and dramatically. UV light is not considered ionizing radiation, yet is widely known to be damaging to the body in excess.

There are now thousands of studies that show that the lower parts of the spectrum, including microwave radiation, can and do cause DNA damage with prolonged exposure to even low intensities, way below the threshold that causes tissue heating. Even at low frequencies and low intensities, the repetitive, pulsed structure of these manmade EMFs is extremely foreign to the body, which the body perceives and reacts to as a potential threat.

Much of the harm from electromagnetic radiation comes from the oxidative stress that is produced by the body perceiving the EMF as an enemy/invader, and mounting an immune response to it. Since it’s not a tangible physical invader that the body can attack and defeat (like a virus or bacteria), this immune response continues 24/7, unproductively, just to eventually exhaust the body’s energy reserves. All immune responses produce countless oxidative compounds in order to kill invasion agents. However, these reactive oxygen species compounds can also damage healthy cells during their attack on the invader, so the immune defense itself can act as a source of oxidative stress.

Introducing a frequency device like Blushield into your environment is one of the best strategies to considerably reduce the effect of these harmful repetitive, pulsed EMFs on the body. Chaga’s adaptation to harsh environments gives it unique medicinal properties

Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a mushroom that has been used for its medicinal properties by cold climate northern peoples for at least one thousand years. Siberians and Northern Europeans consume it regularly, and it is believed to give them extraordinary resistance to chronic illness, and considerably extended lifespans.

Chaga itself grows only in extremely harsh climates, consistently exposed to intensities of cold, wind and UV radiation that are very difficult for humans to live with. The mushroom adapts to its stressful environment by producing very high levels of antioxidants and other medicinal compounds that offer it internal protection from the elements. When we consume chaga, these medicinal elements become part of our own bodies, and over time with consistent use, can build up in our bodies and increase our own resilience to many forms of stress.

Chaga mushroom grows mainly on birch trees, concentrating the natural medicinal components of the birch bark itself. The part of chaga used medicinally does not look like what we commonly think of as a mushroom, with a stem an a cap (a fruiting body), but shows up as a rough looking brown/black mycelial mass (called a sclerotium, or a conk) that grows out of the side of the tree. Its dark brown color is due to its melanin content, which is an antioxidant color pigment that’s responsible for a large portion of its beneficial free radical scavenging effects.

More than 200 mycochemicals have been identified from chaga. These include water-soluble polyphenols and polysaccharides (including beta glucans), alcohol-soluble terpenes, and oil-soluble sterols. Betulin and betulinic acid are terpenes originating in the bark of the birch tree, which the chaga mushroom concentrates. These terpenes occur in the outer black crust of the chaga mushroom, and have potent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and immune modulating properties. This substance is only present in wild chaga mushrooms (not lab cultivated strains) that utilize the black outer crust of the mushroom.

Chaga mushroom and electromagnetic radiation

A lot of research has already been done on the protective effects of chaga mushroom against UV and ionizing radiation, and the restorative effects it can have on previous radiation damage. Although ionizing radiation is categorized in the higher portion of the electromagnetic spectrum compared to non-ionizing microwave radiation (from cell phones, Wifi and other sources), long term non-ionizing EMF exposure has many similar effects on the body as exposure to UV and ionizing radiation, including oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, premature aging, DNA damage, and increased incidence of various cancers.

Although not much research has been done specifically on chaga and non-ionizing radiation, we can look at the large body of research that shows the harmful effects of EMFs on the body, and then at the equally large body of research showing the specific beneficial and protective effects of chaga mushroom against ionizing radiation and other oxidative stressors, and make the correlation ourselves through rational observation.

It is already well documented that electromagnetic fields produce oxidative stress and damage at the DNA level. Chaga mushroom has extraordinarily high levels of antioxidants that prevent oxidative stress and damage, and repair existing damage. EMFs damage cells in ways that increase their likelihood of mutating into cancerous cells. Chaga has anti-mutagenic properties, which increase cell integrity and resistance to mutation, and increase apoptosis (cell death) of misformed cells. A side effect of the harmful action of EMFs is inducing a state of chronic inflammation. Chaga is anti-inflammatory, due to its ability to protect the body from the root causes of chronic inflammation.

Chaga is considered a powerful adaptogen, which refers to a substance that helps the body respond in a way that’s appropriate to whatever is needed at that time. It can assist in ramping up immune power if there’s an actual invader that needs to be eliminated, or if the immune system is overreacting or trying to fight something it shouldn’t be fighting (like EMFs), it helps to calm it down. Adaptogens improve the body’s innate intelligence, so that it will respond appropriately to any given situation. They can help increase energy levels and mental focus during the day when cortisol should be higher, and then help you calm down and rest in the evening as cortisol naturally lowers and melatonin increases.

Chaga is one of the highest antioxidant substances known, which can neutralize the oxidative stress of EMFs, and restore balance and harmony at the cell level.


What to look for when sourcing chaga

Thousands of studies have been done on the medicinal benefits of chaga mushroom, and its potential for future treatment in the immunotherapy realm of modern medicine looks promising. Therefore, there are experiments being done to figure out how to grow chaga in a lab environment. Unfortunately, lab grown chaga at this time is considerably inferior in medicinal aspects, compared to wild chaga.

If you want the strongest and most medicinal chaga, make sure the chaga you source comes from a wild place. You’ll also want to make sure it’s sustainably harvested, with respect to the natural populations of chaga in that environment.

Chaga that’s at least a dual-extract (water and alcohol) will have a potent and well rounded nutritional and medicinal profile. Some of the important components of chaga will only come out in water (like most of the polyphenols and polysaccharides), and some only come out in alcohol (like the terpenes), so the combination is important. The best option is a full spectrum extract that contains the water, alcohol, and oil soluble compounds that have been properly extracted, in small batch production.

Lastly, the highest quality and most medicinal chaga on the market will utilize not just the inner part of the mushroom, which is an orange-brown color, but also the extremely potent outer crust, which is black and rough looking. Some of the vital compounds (like betulin) only exist in this crust, and most sources that sell chaga leave this part out entirely!

These past several years have ushered in significant changes to many aspects of society on a large scale. One of the most major changes (although it is often overlooked or even ignored in the midst of other big societal events) has been the massive increase in wireless technology infrastructure and services, which are broadly referred to as “5G”. This technological expansion has increased our exposure to wireless radiation in ways that are literally exponential, due to the design of 5G and its requirement for a significant increase in infrastructure (mainly broadcasting towers and antennas) to support its functioning.

However, it’s also completely okay to have one of the EVO models even if you live in a low to moderate EMF area. Blushield Portable units: we have something for everyone!

Until these past few years, we only had two options for portable units, and both were mono band devices like our Plugin and Cube home devices. Mono band refers to the classic Blushield multiple waveform algorithm that’s produced for a couple of seconds at a time, repeating every 30 seconds, broadcasted from Blushield’s pure scalar carrier signal. Until halfway through 2020, this was how all of our devices worked.

Any of these models are excellent choices for traveling through or working in high EMF areas where you can see 5G antennas. They are also great if you drive an electric or hybrid car, ride electric trains, use a 5G phone, use Starlink 5G satellite internet (which uses centimeter/millimeter waves in the 10-72 GHz range), or are exposed to many Wifi signals and/or banks of smart meters.

The Phi 01 Portable is ideal for low to moderate EMF areas. It has an updated multi band scalar signal output compared to previous versions of this model. It is lightweight, with an opening in the corner so you can attach a lanyard or string to a belt loop, purse, backpack, etc. The battery will last about 2 continuous days per charge, or longer if you turn it off between uses. If you live in, or frequently travel to, high EMF urban areas, then you may need a stronger portable model for optimal protection.

The Ultimate Portable has a strong, powerful protective field, and is ideal for high EMF areas, and use with a stronger home device like the C1 Ultimate Cube. It has a triple band scalar signal output, designed for protection for most people in moderate to high EMF situations. In this interview Mark explains in-depth what Blushield is doing to protect the body from non-native EMF at the cell level.

There is no doubt that the modern world has brought us a level of convenience and comfort that our ancestors likely couldn’t imagine in their wildest dreams. One of the major accomplishments of modern society has been creating technology that allows us to instantly communicate with anyone in the world in a split second, and to easily access almost any type of information we want.

Technological advancements have propelled massive progress in almost all areas of human life, but there is also a huge downside to this rapid, unchecked level of growth: we don’t always slow down enough to consider the potential harm of the methods we have chosen to utilize to meet our goals. We need to consider more than just the immediate danger and harm, which can be seen in the “I didn’t die from it yet so it must be okay” mindset, and be able to foresee the potential harm our actions are having on future generations.

The level of toxic elements that we are exposed to on a daily basis is at an all time high, coming at us from all directions, including from the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, as well as the invisible electromagnetic fields that surround us 24/7. These invisible EMFs from manmade devices, especially wireless radiation sources like cell phones and Wifi, emit repetitive frequencies that generate stress and damage at the cell level of all living organisms.

The most recent generation of children was born into this unprecedented level of convenience and comfort, as well as the invisible soup of toxic elements coming at them from many sources at once. Not surprisingly, this generation of children deals with the highest prevalence of chronic illness ever in recorded history – including chronic allergies, asthma, skin conditions, mental/mood disorders, autism, childhood onset cancer and diabetes, and many more obscure and “unexplainable” health conditions beyond those.

Although our ancestors were faced with many challenges that we thankfully no longer have to deal with, our kids are up against an entirely new kind of difficult situation. The issues are multifaceted and involve all aspects of modern life, so there’s really too much to cover here, but let’s talk about one of the most insidious and underestimated threats to our children’s long term health: non-native electromagnetic fields.

Why are children more affected by EMFs than adults?

All of the cell phone “safety tests” are done on a human body with the attributes of a 6-foot tall, 200 pound, fully grown man, and cannot be applied to children. Children have much less body mass than adults, resulting in stronger effects from the same levels of EMF exposure. In addition to that, children are different than adults in significant ways that make them far more susceptible to EMF harm. The brain and nervous system are not fully developed until physical maturity (early 20’s), and developing tissue is more susceptible to damage than fully formed tissue. Since their heads will continue to grow until physical maturity, the skulls of children are softer and thinner, allowing more radiation to penetrate into their brains. The younger the child, the softer and thinner the skull, and the more danger of harm from EMF exposure.

Children’s heads and bodies also have a considerably higher water content, which acts as a radiation conductor and amplifies harmful effects. Add to that the accumulation of radiation over time – in modern times, children are exposed to exponentially higher levels of radiation from a much younger age than what their parents and grandparents had to deal with, which means more time to accumulate damage throughout their lives.

So the damage potential is much higher to begin with, and now we have to factor in the technology use habits of modern children and teenagers. A surprisingly high percentage of kids and teenagers have their own cell phones, and many of them sleep with their phones right next to their bed or even under their pillows, directly exposing their brains to RF radiation.

As an EMF conscious parent, you have likely already limited your kids’ use of devices, but there is only so far you can go without restricting their access to the reality of their peers, and even participation in school and other activities they’re interested in. Many parents feel there needs to be a balance between protecting their kids from EMFs, and letting them utilize the benefits of technology for learning and communication.

EMF protection for children

For the vast majority of parents reading this, you don’t want to remove technology entirely from your kids’ lives, considering the great benefits it can have to their learning process and building skills for modern times. There are ways you can allow them to utilize technology in a much safer way, preserving their health in the process. It’s important to prioritize their health first, since if they don’t have their good health, their skills won’t matter!

If your child has their own phone, or has access to your phone, you can teach them some basic “EMF hygiene” that will keep them far safer in the long term. First of all, teach them to never keep a cell phone against their body for long periods of time (such as in a pocket) unless it’s turned off, or on airplane mode. If it must remain turned on (so you can get ahold of them in the case of an emergency, for example), it’s much better for the phone to be in a backpack or bag they keep near them, than in a pocket or directly against their body.

Make sure they don’t place a laptop computer on their lap, but that it’s placed further away on a table, preferably at least one foot away from their body. When they need to make a call, it’s important that they don’t hold a cell phone directly against their head. This exposes them to extremely high levels of EMFs. It’s better to use the speakerphone setting, or to use AirTube headphones. AirTubes are different than wired headphones, because the final six inches before reaching the ear pieces are tubes of air that transmit the sound acoustically, rather than electronically through a wire. This means the EMFs stop 6 inches away from their head, instead of being channeled like an antenna through the wire directly into their sensitive ear canals.

If they keep their phone next to their bed at night, have them make sure to turn it on airplane mode.You can still use the phone’s alarm setting while it’s on airplane mode.

In addition to cultivating healthy habits while using devices, nutrition also plays an important role in EMF protection. A diet that’s centered on organic whole foods will provide the most nutrients and the least toxicity, increasing overall resiliency and vitality, and minimizing the heavy metals accumulated through food. Heavy metal toxicity in the body increases the harm from EMFs, as the metals act as a conductor that attracts and amplifies EMFs in the body. There are foods that kids can eat that can gently remove heavy metals from the body, including seaweeds, miso, spirulina and cilantro. Magnesium is an especially important nutrient, as it protects the cells from EMF harm, so make sure they are eating plenty of high magnesium foods, such as leafy greens, nuts, beans, fish, and even child-safe magnesium supplements. To deal with all the EMFs you can’t minimize or remove from your environment, Blushield EMF protection devices can bridge that gap so you and your children can still benefit from technology, with the addition of a strong protective field of nature-based frequency patterns that their body will preferentially resonate with. When the cells of the body are entrained with Blushield’s biologically coherent field, the vast majority of the harm from the other EMFs is removed, without having to physically remove those EMF emitting devices from your home!

We have noticed that kids can be even more responsive to the beneficial frequency field of Blushield than adults, because their instincts are usually stronger and they don’t deal with the “mind chatter” of the adult world. Often, even if a child doesn’t know about a new Blushield device in their home, they will comment about feeling different or better in some way. We also find that children seem to intuitively grasp how Blushield works, and short videos that explain the frequency field visually, like this one, are very effective at giving them a basic understanding.

How to equip your kids with a Blushield portable unit

Just like with adults, the most important Blushield device for children is a stationary home unit of the appropriate strength for your living situation and needs. This home device should emit a strong enough signal to become the dominant frequency field in your surroundings, overriding the combined total of EMFs around you (which is different for everyone, depending on where you live). We have different home devices designed for rural areas, suburban areas, cities, and dense metropolitan areas. The home device is important because since it plugs into the wall and uses mains power, it’s able to produce a strong field with a very large coverage area, to protect the entirety of your home and the outdoor spaces where your children play. This is their baseline protection, and is the field they are immersed in as they sleep at night, which is when the body restores and regenerates itself from the stresses of the day… and for kids, that’s when a lot of their growth and development happens, physically and mentally!

If your children leave your home during the day to attend school (or other activities if they’re homeschooled), it would be optimal to equip them with their own Blushield portable device.

Our best portable model for most kids is the Phi 01 Portable. It is small, lightweight, and has an opening in the corner of the device where you can attach a lanyard, chain or string, to keep it attached to your child's clothing or bag, so it won't be lost.

If you prefer to have a stronger model (like the Ultimate, Sensitive or EVO Portable) for an older, more responsible child, those models do not have a hole to loop a lanyard or string into, so it’s best to place the portable in a pocket that buttons or zips up, so that it won’t fall out during the day, especially if they engage in physical activity. Another alternative is keeping the portable in their backpack, as long as they stay within several feet of the backpack during most or all of the time they’re away from home.

Protecting children is one of the things we are most passionate about, as they are our future! Most of us on the Blushield USA team have children of our own. We have extensive experience using Blushield as a protective tool to maintain their health and well being in these challenging times, and truly believe in it as a key piece of their healthy and thriving future.

Over the past two years, 5G (a marketing term for the 5th generation cellular phone network) has been launched all over the United States, and then considerably densified in most urban, suburban and even rural areas. A couple years ago, if you were to look at a map of cell towers and antennas, it would be rare to find one near you that’s operating over the standard 600-900 MHz (megahertz) range that 4G service uses. Now when you look at those same maps, not only are you way more likely to see antennas operating at higher frequencies, but you will see a much higher number of antennas overall, due to the fact that higher frequencies can’t transmit a signal as far as lower frequencies, requiring more frequent antenna placement to compensate for the smaller service range.

Related to the 5G rollout, this increase in tower and antenna numbers is called densification. These higher frequencies, often above 1 GHz (gigahertz) all the way up to 47 GHz (with plans to go higher in the future), are desirable for the 5G vision due to their much faster transmission speeds and higher performance bandwidth. But the higher you go in frequency, the smaller the coverage area, and the more the signal can be interrupted by any obstruction, including buildings, trees, or even rain and fog!

As detailed in our 2021 article, 5G Explained (and What It Means for Health & Humanity), 5G will utilize a wide range of frequencies. A lot of it will overlap the current 4G spectrum in the high megahertz ranges, due to the long distance transmission that’s characteristic of lower frequencies. This is referred to as low band 5G, and is the easiest to implement because it doesn’t require the installation of new towers, just additional antennas that use the updated technology placed on current towers.

At the opposite end of the spectrum is high band 5G, which is currently defined as frequencies over 6 GHz (although other sources define it as 24 GHz and beyond). Millimeter waves, which are waveforms with frequencies over 30 GHz and up to 300 GHz, are part of the grand vision of 5G’s IoT (Internet of Things) uses in dense metropolitan areas. However, these higher frequencies require extremely dense infrastructure, which could mean an antenna on every street corner or multiple antennas inside of a single building! This makes millimeter waves both impractical for broad coverage ranges, and expensive to implement due to the massive increase in infrastructure that would need to be installed before these more advanced uses can be realized at their full potential.

Between low and high band 5G is a small band of spectrum between 1 GHz and 6 GHz, referred to as mid band. Telecoms see this as the “sweet spot” for 5G use, and this spectrum is highly coveted because it has the strengths of both low and high band – the wider coverage range of low band, with the faster speeds and higher bandwidth of high band. It can be implemented with only a fraction of the new infrastructure that high band 5G requires to function, so is seen as a realistic short term goal that will considerably expand 5G service capabilities.

The T-Mobile website explains how telecoms feel about the mid band spectrum: “Mid-band is critical to 5G spectrum because it bridges the speed, capacity, coverage, and penetration gaps between low-band and mmWave.”

At around this time last year, AT&T and Verizon spent a combined total of $70 billion purchasing portions of spectrum between 3.7 and 3.98 GHz that were being auctioned by the FCC, in the highly desirable mid band. They were preparing to launch their expanded 5G network on December 5th, but met with an unexpected obstacle that ended up delaying their rollout date, which could have been easily foreseen if they had been paying attention.

The frequency spectrum between about 3.7 and 8 GHz is commonly referred to as C-band, where the C stands for communications, due to the long standing use of this frequency spectrum for satellite communications uses around the world. The lower portion of this spectrum, 3.7 to 4.2 GHz, is used by many types of satellites for their downlinks, meaning the transmission from space based satellites to their associated ground stations.

The portion of spectrum just above satellite usage, within the 4.2 to 4.4 GHz range, has a special use in the aviation industry. Radar altimeters are instruments that are designed to provide altitude (direct height-above-terrain/water) information to a variety of aircraft systems, including transport and commuter airplanes, as well as helicopters. The information that radar altimeters provide is critical during attempted landings in bad weather with low visibility, as well as other low altitude operations, and is of utmost importance to the safe operation of an aircraft. Due to their critical nature and highly sensitive receivers, radar altimeters have exclusive use of the 4.2-4.4 GHz band throughout the world.

Similar to other radar devices, a radar altimeter must be able to detect faint signals reflected off the ground to measure altitude. These instruments are highly accurate in normal conditions, but the signals they are designed to detect are very faint. If there are frequencies present from other sources operating in the nearby spectrum at a higher level of power, they may interfere with the radar altimeter’s highly sensitive instruments of detection and produce false results. The possibility of this type of interference could mean the difference between a safe, predictable flight and a fatal disaster.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the government body that is supposed to regulate the telecom industry, but in practice seems wholly devoted to awarding them legal permission to do anything they want. This is something you can read about in detail in Captured Agency, a 2015 report by the Harvard University Center for Ethics.

The FCC argues that there is already a 220 MHz guard band that would act as a buffer between the mobile broadband 5G use of C-band, and the airline’s instruments. However, industry experts and major aerospace and avionics manufacturers have studied the subject in depth, and are concerned that this guard band is not nearly enough, due to the wide difference between the high power 5G emissions and the subtle, low power radar waves from the altimeters. Therefore, the aviation industry has expressed ongoing concern about this issue since as far back as 2013, when 5G’s planned utilization of mid band spectrum was initially being proposed.

In the years since, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other aviation and transportation organizations have attempted to resolve these concerns with the FCC, proposing solutions but mostly being ignored. A good example is a December 2020 submission by the Department of Transportation to the FCC’s docket a week before their auction for the 3.7-3.98 GHz portion of the C-band spectrum. This document contained important and time-critical information, but apparently the NTIA (the federal government coordinator on spectrum disputes) failed to add this letter to the docket.

What resulted was this long standing battle coming to a head at the very last minute, just days before January 5th, when AT&T and Verizon had planned on launching their expanded service in the C-band range. To anyone who is unaware of the background of this ongoing dispute, it would seem like the aviation sector sprung an off-the-wall request on the FCC and telecoms when they had very little time left to act on it. However, do a little background research and one will realize that these concerns, which were repeatedly expressed, have been ignored or delayed for far too long.

The Department of Transportation (DoT) requested last week (on December 31st) that AT&T and Verizon delay their launch by two more weeks, in addition to the temporary safety measures they had previously agreed to that would provide a buffer to make sure aircraft safety was still in place while all the needed research is done and changes are made. Initially, in a January 1st response, the FCC rejected the DoT proposal, scoffing at the requests, but then did a one-eighty on January 3rd, deciding to accept it after all. A threatened lawsuit by air industry trade group Airlines for America (A4A) may have factored into their quick change of heart.


The current state of 5G

The current plan is for AT&T and Verizon to launch their C-band service on January 19th at the earliest, considerably expanding their network coverage. They have agreed to a 6-month period of exclusion zones with no active C-band 5G in the close vicinity of no more than 50 priority U.S. airports, as well as maintaining close communication with the FAA about all new antenna installations. At the end of this 6-month period, on July 5th, they will be allowed to deploy their 5G base stations “in any manner consistent with their C-Band Licenses, all customary rules and regulations, and any additional airport-specific mitigation measures” that the companies have since agreed to.

This plan is still a compromise for aviation, and they are now actively issuing notices and warnings of potential interference to all airports and runways that may be affected by the new spectrum launch on January 19th.

Considering the evidence, it is easy to believe that the FCC is “dominated by the industries it presumably regulates”, and in their alliance with the telecom industry, their primary tactics are bullying, ignoring evidence, and treating any objections from other arms of the government as well as U.S. citizens as an annoying inconvenience that’s only trying to slow them down.

In a speech by FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr in March of 2021, he happily announces that the United States is “winning the race to 5G”. The competition between the United States and other countries (especially China) to take the lead in 5G implementation has been cutthroat, and has motivated those in power to barrel over all objectors in its desperation to be the first and best. This has resulted in laws changing to accommodate easier and faster 5G deployment, including removing the power of local municipalities from preventing tower and antenna installation through various legal loopholes and tweaks to current code wording, which Commissioner Carr refers to as “modernizing our infrastructure rules.”

Carr also stated in his lecture, “Infrastructure builds accelerated at a record pace over the last four years. In 2016, U.S. providers built just 708 new cell sites. In 2019, with our streamlined framework in place, they built over 46,000. That’s a 65-fold increase!”

That is a massive and unprecedented increase in tower installations, and you will notice this if you’ve been following any of the cell tower and antenna maps available online over the past few years (such as Antenna Search). If there was a 65x increase in cell site installations from 2016 to 2019, just imagine what has happened since then, in 2020 and 2021. Covid disruptions enabled them to lift even more restrictions to building, citing the urgency that lockdowns are “moving everything online” and therefore service needs to be implemented at an even faster pace!

We are closely watching the progression of 5G service, to ensure that Blushield EMF protection devices remain several steps ahead of all of their plans. There are many frequencies and frequency patterns that are constantly playing in the background within the atmosphere where all creatures live out their lives on this planet we call Earth. Although some of them are within the range perceptible to our eyes (visible frequencies) and ears (audible frequencies), the vast majority of them are invisible and inaudible to our five senses.

These frequencies that we have been exposed to since the very first cell division which started our growth in the womb, and will be exposed to until our last breath, very profoundly affect us even if we can’t perceive them with our senses.

Like a sort of “theme song” of our Earthly lives, playing out in the background like a gentle and beautiful soundtrack, every function of our bodies and minds are entrained with and affected by these subtle and diverse frequencies. If you overlay them on a chart of the electromagnetic spectrum, the majority of them would be categorized in the Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) range, generally between 0.1 and 300 hertz.

This is also known as the human responsive range of frequencies, which are frequencies that exist widely throughout nature and the cosmos that humans have been exposed to for our entire existence. It’s also a frequency range that our bodies are very responsive to, and these responses are beneficial and healthful as long as the frequencies are moving and shifting in a natural way.

In nature, there are no continuous, repetitive frequencies. Everything fluctuates constantly, usually in subtle ways, with regard to exact frequencies and the amplitude (aka loudness/strength) of these frequencies. Even the general patterns that exist widely throughout nature (such as Phi/Fibonacci patterns) will NOT ever repeat at exactly the same frequencies and amplitudes more than once. There is infinite variation in nature. It is only the manmade technology of modern times that utilizes repetitive frequencies.


The Schumann resonances are foundational for life on Earth

One of the most important groups of frequencies that play in the background of our lives constantly are called the Schumann resonances.

The large space between the surface of the Earth and the ionosphere (a portion of the upper atmosphere that’s full of charged particles from incoming solar rays) acts as a closed, spherical waveguide to contain and direct frequencies generated between the Earth and ionosphere. This waveguide acts as a resonant cavity that’s charged mainly by lightning strikes (which happen on an average of 200 per second globally!), but it can also be affected by other electromagnetic disturbances, including geomagnetic micropulsations (small fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field).

The Schumann resonances were named after German physicist Winfried Otto Schumann, who first predicted them in 1952, and they were first accurately measured between 1960 and 1963.

The fundamental (and usually the strongest) frequency of the Schumann resonances is around 7.8 hertz. This is the frequency of a waveform that’s equal in size to the circumference of the Earth. Additionally, there are several frequencies that are natural harmonics of this fundamental frequency, which are half the circumference of the Earth, one-third of the circumference, one-fourth of the circumference, etc. The Schumann resonance harmonic frequencies are recorded at around 14 hertz, 20 hertz, 27, 33, 39, 45, and sometimes even higher. These higher frequencies usually aren’t as strong (lower amplitude), but they are continuously being recorded by Schumann resonance frequency monitors. The higher the harmonic, generally the lower its amplitude (power) is.

One of the most important things to understand about these Schumann resonances is they are NOT static in their frequency! Although the foundational frequency is commonly said to be 7.83 hertz, it actually fluctuates daily between 7.2 and 8.8 hertz, and sometimes will drop down or jump up 3.5 hertz from the base frequency range in special circumstances, such as during coronal mass ejections from the Sun that cause an influx of photons to enter the ionosphere, slightly changing the size of the resonant cavity between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere. The solar energy hitting the Earth’s atmosphere causes regular compression and expansion of the upper wall of the closed cavity, which is the primary force that subtly alters the Schumann resonance frequencies.

You may occasionally find devices on the market that are being sold as Schumann resonance generators, that emit a continuous frequency of 7.83 hertz. While this may have some positive effects in the short term, it is not healthy to be exposed to ANY continuous frequency for a long period of time, since continuous static frequencies do not exist in nature. Therefore, any benefit from these types of devices will be limited and short term, and may have detrimental effects if they’re used regularly. Anything emitting a constant 7.83 hertz is not an accurate representation of the Schumann resonances in nature, which are constantly in flux, and include several harmonic frequencies in addition to the base frequency.

To get an idea of the types of fluctuations that occur with the true Schumann resonances, listen to this 3-minute audio of the resonances that was recorded by a magnetic sensor in California. The frequencies were shifted upwards into the audible range, so not completely accurate to the true frequencies, but you will definitely get an idea. Notice how it rings like a tuning fork!

What is the relationship between Earth frequencies and our bodies?

The interaction between the Schumann resonance frequencies and our bodies and minds is still being studied, but it’s clear that they absolutely do affect us! Every cell in our bodies, especially those of our brain, heart and nervous system, are highly tuned, extremely sensitive living electrochemical receivers and transmitters. Subtle electromagnetic fields produced by processes in our own bodies are what turn on and off the chemical messengers that perform every function essential to keeping us alive and healthy.

Most human brainwave states fall within the first five Schumann resonance modes, between 7 and 35 hertz. The theta and alpha brainwave states, which are necessary for growth, repair and optimal brain function and creativity, meet right around the fundamental 7.8 hertz Schumann resonance frequency.

“Schumann’s successor, Dr. Herbert König demonstrated a connection between Schumann Resonance and brain rhythms. König compared human EEG recordings with natural electromagnetic fields in the environment, finding that 7.83 Hz is the dominant brain wave rhythm of all mammals in alpha or resting state. When the brain resonates with SR energy, information is transmitted that appears to coordinate psychophysical systems.” (source)

Continuously bathing in the Schumann resonances seems essential for human survival and optimal health. This was discovered when it was noticed that astronauts, when they left the Earth’s magnetic field, could no longer regulate their mental and emotional states and became aggressive towards one another. Additionally, during longer space flights, astronauts would lose a large percentage of their muscle and bone mass. These disturbing side effects were avoided on future trips by using a Schumann resonance generator during the flights.

In addition to the resonances that are generated in the space between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere, the Earth itself emits a resonant frequency from a combination of the infrared waves from the hot core, and re-radiated solar energy absorbed by the surface. This frequency fluctuates between 10 and 11.75 hertz, which lines up with the higher part of the mammalian alpha brain wave spectrum.

It is amazing, and certainly not coincidental, that the planet we live on emits the exact same frequency as our own brains when we’re in a state of present moment awareness and alert relaxation! Increasing your alpha brain waves can result in reducing symptoms of depression and improving creativity. It’s like we are entraining our brains with the Earth itself, so it’s no wonder the effects are so beneficial!

Dr. Robert C. Beck, physicist and EMF researcher, found that the human body has numerous very specific frequencies that trigger production of different endorphins, beta-endorphins, catecholamines, enkephalins, dynorphins, proteins, and stem cells. He found about 250 different key frequencies that trigger the body to produce its own healing chemicals. He also studied different types of “healers” from many traditions all over the world, and found that they all produced similar brain wave patterns while performing a healing, which centered around 7.8-8 hertz. Subsequent studies on this showed that the brain waves of some of the subjects/patients receiving healing became phase and frequency synchronized to the Schumann resonance during “healing moments”.

Itzhak Bentov, a scientist in the 1970s, discovered a connection between steady 7 to 8 hertz brain wave activity (which occurs during meditation) and the activation of other systems in the body. This may explain electromagnetically how meditation benefits the body and mind in a myriad of ways.

One reason we are highly sensitive to external electromagnetic fields, both natural and artificial, is because our DNA itself acts as a fractal antenna. Human DNA has been found to possess two important characteristics of a fractal antenna – self-symmetry, and conductive properties. Interestingly, weakly powered electromagnetic fields that don’t have enough strength to cause heating in localized body tissue, are actually absorbed at around 60 times the power by our DNA, due to its perfect antenna characteristics! This could account for the many studies that show single and double strand DNA damage from exposure to non-thermal (too weak to heat tissue) manmade electromagnetic fields.


Is the fundamental Schumann resonance frequency changing?

There is a theory circulating on the internet that the Schumann resonance frequency is becoming higher over time, and is no longer 7.8 hertz. They make the claim that this raise in frequency, which some say is up to 11 or 12 hertz or even much higher, is related to a “raising of human consciousness”. There may be a little bit of truth to this, but there are some inaccuracies that need to be addressed.

The fundamental Schumann resonance frequency will only change if the Earth itself gets smaller, since a waveform that’s as long as the circumference of the Earth will always resonate around 7.8 hertz. The smaller the waveform, the higher the frequency, so the Earth would literally have to shrink for this base frequency to become higher.

However, the Schumann resonances DO change in amplitude, or strength/power. Although there is no evidence of this being a linear change (meaning it hasn’t increased in amplitude consistently over time), there are certain influences that can cause the power of the resonances to spike for certain periods of time. One result of this is the appearance of higher frequency harmonics than have previously been seen. Generally, the stronger the base frequency is expressing, the stronger the harmonics will become, and you may even begin to see harmonics at frequencies that were previously undetectable. In 2019, a harmonic of 156 hertz was recorded, which would be the 20th harmonic of the base frequency! In some instances, one of the harmonics will even express at stronger power levels than the base frequency for a period of time.

Any sort of higher meaning in this is speculative, but it’s certainly possible that the occurrence of higher frequency harmonics could influence human consciousness on a large scale. Higher frequencies that are still within the human responsive range are associated with gamma brain wave states in mammals. These are the fastest brain waves states that humans can produce, usually between 35 and 100 hertz, and are related to intense states of focus and being actively engaged in problem solving.

With this information in mind, the evolution and maturing of human consciousness and societal behavior could certainly be related to an increase in the power of the Schumann resonances and the appearance of higher frequency harmonics.


How do manmade EMFs affect our relationship to natural Earth frequencies?

It is clear that our bodies are highly attuned to, and vitally dependent on, the symphony of Earth frequencies that plays constantly in the background of our lives. Between the subtle variations of the Schumann resonances, the resonant frequencies from the Earth’s core and surface itself, and the vast range of micro frequencies emitted from all the other living beings around us (including plants, minerals, bacteria, animals and insects), this extremely complex overlaying of frequencies teems with life and helps our bodies function optimally.

What happens when you start adding artificial electromagnetic fields from cell towers, cell phones, Wifi, radar, and power lines, which operate at millions of times the power levels and usually millions of times higher frequencies as our natural background exposure?

Like a tuning fork, our bodies will no longer be able to hear and attune to these subtle natural frequencies as well, and will have no choice but to attempt to resonate with these louder fields that currently predominate in our environment. The problem is, these fields are unnatural and biologically incompatible in every way imaginable. The frequencies themselves are repetitive, like an alarm clock or car alarm (that’s what they might sound like if we could hear them). The frequencies are generally in the megahertz to gigahertz range, which is far higher and faster than the human responsive range that our bodies are adapted to. This constant exposure to repetitive high frequencies is overstimulating to every cell in our body, causing very sensitive internal mechanisms like our voltage gated calcium channels to flood calcium into our cells, setting off a chain reaction of agitated and uncontrolled activity in our bodies.

We’ve been contacted many times now from frustrated and disappointed people who tell us that a new cell tower or antenna just popped up suddenly one day, very close to their house, or close to their children’s school. The frustration comes from not having any idea prior that this was going to happen, and feeling like they had no say in the matter.

For our customers here at Blushield, the main cause for concern is the deleterious health effects of living so close to a cell tower, and we agree that this is the number one reason to be concerned! Among the general public who aren’t necessarily aware of the health effects of EMFs, seeing a cell tower near their home is usually distasteful for other reasons.

The main concern in the minds of most people is aesthetic, especially in areas where natural features like trees, lakes and rivers are highly valued, and near historic points of interest where people want to maintain the authentic historical feel of an area that attracts tourists from all over. Another concern that’s related to aesthetics is an anticipated reduction of a homeowner’s property value from an unsightly cell tower. A big cell tower (or even a smaller antenna that’s visible) installed in a neighborhood is, quite frankly, an eyesore for almost anyone.

Is there any way we can gain awareness of new tower and antenna plans in our local areas prior to their installation, and then have a say in whether they are allowed to install them within our municipality? Yes! It can be a bit complicated legally in some circumstances, but we each have more say in this than we think. It just takes some study to grasp a basic understanding of the issue, and how we can play our part and make a difference.


Recent local area wins against cell tower installations

Americans for Responsible Technology (ART) is “a national coalition of grassroots organizations with a mission to stop the unconstrained proliferation of 5G small cell antennas and promote equitable access to technologies that benefit society and protect the health, safety, security, privacy and property of all Americans.”

ART just reported on several local area legal wins against telecom applications to install towers. The local municipalities were able to reject the tower or antenna proposal through certain legally valid means.

In July of this year, Lakeland, Florida was able to reject a proposed 150-foot cell tower using aesthetic, historical and zoning arguments. The cell tower would have been installed very close to multi-family homes, a large lake that’s valued for its recreational opportunities, and historic Dixieland. The court voted 3-2 to reject the cell tower installation, citing that the tower would take up valuable, desirable land that could be used for family housing and recreation. Their explanation also emphasized the visual disturbance the tower would create for those wanting to enjoy beautiful views at nearby Lake Hunter, and an authentic experience in the historic district of Dixieland.

The city council in Brawley, California rejected the proposed installation of a cell tower in a residential area that includes a big park with baseball fields, a gymnasium, pool and skating rink. Many of the local residents attended the city council meeting and voiced their opposition to the tower being installed, even if it meant spotty T-Mobile coverage in the area. Many residents were concerned about the health effects that the big tower may have on their children who use the park, and others were concerned about it reducing their property values, and it having a “significant negative visual impact on the area”. The tower was rejected with a 5-0 unanimous vote.

A proposal for a 125-foot AT&T cell tower in Loudoun County, Virginia, was rejected 8-1 last month by the Loudoun County board of supervisors. The tower would have been built on top of the Short Hill Mountain ridgeline, and although that would have improved coverage in the surrounding area, the sight of the tower and the environmental impact of the monopole and ground facility were undesirable to the vast majority of residents and local government. The tower installation would have run counter to the Loudoun land use plan that states that towers need to be built on the downslope of the ridgeline, not the top. Local residents argued that their current cell phone coverage is not really in crisis, and that the land use plan also protects the environmental and scenic qualities of the county’s prime viewsheds. Short Hill Mountain is an important feature in the iconic visual experience from one of the most popular short hikes on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Weverton Cliffs in central Maryland.

“To make a permanent environmental change for a short term technological issue — when you have technological advances that are happening every five, 10, 15 years with huge advances — I’m not going to do anything that is environmentally harmful for a short-term technological gain,” says Loudoun County chairwoman Phyllis Randall.

The city council of Sylvania, Ohio, voted unanimously to reject a proposal to install a 140-foot Verizon cell tower at Northview High School. The ART organization assisted the residents of Sylvania in defeating this ill-sited tower proposal.

The biggest recent win for activists was the veto of California State Bill 556. The bill was introduced in February, and after months of non-stop lobbying, letter writing campaigns, testifying at public hearings, and much more, the governor vetoed the bill. SB 556 was a telecom-industry sponsored bill that would have removed significant local control over the deployment of 5G antennas in communities across the entire State of California.


Resources to help you take local action

The Americans for Responsible Technology website contains a freely available 5G Activist Toolkit, which includes sample letters and flyers that can be customized and sent to your local officials, neighbors and schools, a sample small cell code for villages, towns and small cities, and information on successful lobbying and legislative outreach. It is a fantastic resource that we encourage everyone to explore to see how they can participate in making positive change in their local area!

It’s important to voice your concerns about the potential health hazards of radiation from nearby cell towers, but ART states that the most consistent winning strategy for fighting unwanted cell towers is arguing that the tower will impose an eyesore on your community, devalue nearby properties, and/or have a detrimental visual impact on surrounding historic areas.

They also emphasize ensuring that your local telecommunications ordinance is up-to-date and contains specific language to protect residents of your community from ill-sited 5G "small cell" antennas. They wrote a simple Checklist for Municipal Codes Addressing Small Cell Installations as a resource to help any local municipality cover their bases and create appropriately difficult hoops for telecoms to jump through that will ensure they don’t force their way into a community that doesn’t want or need their products and services.

How can you stay informed about proposals for future tower installations in your area? You can file a FOIL (Freedom of Information Law) request on your locality’s website. Ask to review all pending applications for wireless telecommunications facilities within a one-mile radius of your home. Contact your local clerk if you have questions or concerns about how to do this. To be able to take action against a new cell tower proposal, it’s best to know about it in advance, so this is an important step!

Over the past couple decades, as cell phone use in cars (even while driving) has become commonplace, the question of whether cell phone use hinders the safety of operating a vehicle has been asked with increasing frequency. First and foremost, there is the obvious consideration of a highly distracting element being added into the environment of the driver, creating the impulse or necessity of diverting their attention from watching the road and operating the vehicle. The common consensus is that this is unsafe, and has become a frequent cause of automobile accidents.

A more recent concern, with the rise of hands-free cell phone systems that enable you to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the steering wheel, is the discovery of the way that interacting with the information stimulus from your phone affects your brain function. It occupies your awareness and prompts you to interact with this stimulus, which inherently decreases driving safety, stealing your focus away from driving your car and paying attention to your surroundings closely enough so that you can react instantly when there’s a danger or obstruction on the road.

These dangers have been established and widely agreed upon, and public information cautioning the use of cell phones while driving is now widespread. It is even against the law now in many places. 1.3 million people per year worldwide die in auto accidents, and between 20 and 50 million suffer non-fatal injuries. Avoiding cell phone use while driving is one of several common public guidelines for increasing safety on the roads, listed just after avoiding driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and obeying speed limits.

A much more recent line of inquiry is if the health effects of the electromagnetic fields themselves, from cell phone use and other sources like radar sensors (and even the car motor itself), may be hindering the brain and nervous system function of drivers, affecting their ability to safely operate their vehicles. This is a very valid question, considering the established effects of EMFs on the brain and nervous system, and one that needs to be explored thoroughly to make sure our roadways are as safe as possible as EMF sources like 5G antennas and vehicle radar systems are increasing exponentially, increasing our radiation exposure while we drive our cars.


Polish study from 2013 finds 3x increase in RF radiation while driving

A study published in the International Journal of Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health in 2013 sought to understand this issue in greater depth. Note that even 8 years ago when this study was published, cell phone use in cars was minimal compared to what it is today, with much less daily use per cell phone user, as well as slower speeds and less overall data transfer. When the study was actually done, in 2011, 4G was only just being announced and phones were still operating within the 3G standard, which only rarely included video streaming.

A working group of scientists in Poland saw a need for research to be done into the effects of radiofrequency radiation on humans operating motor vehicles. Past studies have demonstrated that EMFs may affect EEG recordings in subjects performing complex mental tasks, as well as modify human working memory and cognitive functions. This study hypothesizes that cell phone EMFs may adversely affect a driver’s response to road traffic situations.

Since there have been little to no prior studies in this area, it was first important to establish a driver’s EMF exposure levels while driving and using a cell phone, to act as a baseline for subsequent studies to measure effects of these EMFs at appropriate levels that simulate real life use.

They used motor vehicle simulators in a controlled environment, and the EMF exposure was facilitated using a commercial Nokia phone set to emit a UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) test signal. The study states, “The source used in our experiment enabled the generation of a signal identical to that occurring in real conditions, with full repeatability and stability ensured.”

The EMF readings were taken at the position of the driver’s head (to simulate the driver talking with the phone held to the ear), as well as at the position of the dashboard (for hands free cell phone setups). The tests were done with the phones at full power (to simulate use in rural areas with poor base station signal) as well as at 20% power (representing urban areas with good base station coverage). The readings were measured at 16 separate locations inside the vehicle, corresponding to parts of the body of a driver. Unsurprisingly, the highest readings were found near the head of the simulated driver using the cell phone against the ear.

Interestingly, they also compared measurements inside the vehicle simulator to measurements using the same cell phone outside the vehicle, and found 3 times greater EMF exposure levels inside the vehicle! The study commented about the threefold greater exposure within the vehicle simulator:

“Those values are elevated mainly due to the induction of EMF in the simulator’s metal parts and EMF rebounding from metal exterior planes. Our results correspond to those published by other authors, showing an increase of exposure inside a motor vehicle compared to the theoretically calculated free space conditions.”


Cars are Faraday cages that concentrate EMFs

As the study results showed, and the researchers explained, the metal parts of the car’s frame and body panels act to block the dispersal of EMFs generated inside the vehicle. In free space, they would escape into the surrounding area, diluting their concentration. Inside a car, because the metal body will partially block external signals, it is more likely that your phone will have a harder time receiving a signal from a nearby cell tower, thereby ramping up the signal amplitude to a higher level to achieve a connection, increasing the EMF exposure of those inside the car by up to 400%.

Additionally, the signal the phone tries to send back to the tower may “bounce off” the metal walls inside the car several times before it finds its way out and back to the tower, exposing everyone in the car to higher levels of radiation. It makes complete sense that these study results showed increased EMF intensity inside the car.

Modern cars have additional problems. Most new cars come with radar sensor systems that are designed to alert the driver to other vehicles or obstructions around the car, for the purpose of deceasing collisions due to driver negligence. These radar systems operate in the millimeter wave range, usually between 24 GHz and 77 GHz. These are higher frequencies than most 5G antennas currently use! Although they are fairly low power (low amplitude) in their signal output, they are also much closer to our bodies than 5G antennas, and they are operating the entire time the vehicle is turned on, so our exposure is constant. Due to the Faraday cage-like structure of the car body, these millimeter wave radar signals will also concentrate inside the car. The study did not test this aspect of modern cars, as it was not widespread during the time of the study.

Also, the car’s motor itself, as well as its internal computers, are constantly emitting EMFs within extremely close range of the front seat driver and passenger. A motor emits electric and magnetic fields as part of its basic function, even if it’s an older car with very little computerized aspects.

The elaborate computer systems and large storage battery in electric cars, which many people now drive, take this to the next level! There were only about 17,000 electric cars on the road in 2010. By 2019, that number has reached 7.2 million!

All of the above considered, you can see that driving is very different now than it used to be. For the long-term health and critical short-term driving safety of you and your passengers, you will want to make sure you are adequately protected from EMFs anytime you are in your car.

Last year, we wrote about a major lawsuit related to the effects of radiofrequency radiation on human health and the environment. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was challenged by two health and environmental activist organizations, Children’s Health Defense and the Environmental Health Trust, for refusing to update its grossly outdated and inadequate wireless radiation “health” guidelines that were established 25 years ago and haven’t been updated since.

Earlier this month, the D.C. Court of Appeals made their final decision. The FCC lost the case, and was found guilty of ignoring substantive evidence of harm from radiofrequency radiation. After examining the mountains of evidence submitted by the plaintiffs on the wide spectrum of harm from wireless radiation, the court’s judgement states:

“The case be remanded to the commission to provide a reasoned explanation for its determination that its guidelines adequately protect against harmful effects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation…”

The case is closed, the FCC lost, and now it is their legal responsibility to meaningfully address decades worth of scientific studies and individuals’ testimonies of RF radiation harming health and the environment.

Reviewing the CHD vs FCC case on wireless exposure health guidelines

You may recall our initial article about this case we posted last October, after the principal brief was filed, called The FCC Is Being Sued! How To Stop 5G. The event that prompted the lawsuit last year was the FCC’s refusal to review and update their extremely outdated wireless exposure “health” guidelines that were established 25 years ago, in 1996, when public exposure to wireless radiation was a tiny fraction of what it is today. The guidelines themselves only acknowledge possible harm from thermal effects (the exposure level it takes to heat human tissue), and completely ignore the large body of science (that even existed back then) pointing to non-thermal harms.

Almost 10 years ago, the U.S. Government Accountability Office published a recommendation that the FCC update its guidelines, which they had promised to do frequently when the guidelines were initially established, to reflect ever changing exposure levels. As a response, the FCC opened a docket for public comment, which over the next several years, filled up with thousands of scientific studies and individual testimonies claiming widespread harm from radio-frequency radiation to the health of humans, animals and the environment.

Several years later, the FCC closed the docket, and without addressing ANY of the comments, decided that its guidelines were still adequate to protect health and that they did not need to update them.

The lawsuit, which was filed very soon after the FCC’s decision, claims that the FCC’s refusal to address the vast mountain of evidence is arbitrary, capricious, not evidence-based, and an abuse of discretion. The court agreed with this in their final verdict. This accusation means that there is no rational connection between the facts found and the conclusions drawn, and they have “entirely failed to consider an important aspect of the problem,” and/or “offered an explanation for its decision that runs counter to the evidence before the agency.”

For clarity, the court’s decision didn’t state specifically that 5G and wireless radiation is harmful. It stated that the FCC failed to consider substantial evidence that these harms exist. In a certain sense, court’s decision implies that these harms exist and are valid, unless the FCC can prove otherwise.

To establish the case, the petitioners filed 11,000 pages of evidence of harm from 5G and wireless technology. The FCC is now tasked with addressing this evidence in a meaningful and rational way.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., CHD chairman and attorney on the case, explains the deeper truth that spurred on the FCC’s actions and made it necessary to hold them accountable:


“The telecom industry, by subverting democracy, by corrupting public officials, by compromising the science, has built an industry on fraud. That does not mean that we can’t have a telecom industry that gives us very good cell phone service. We can have that and we can have safety, and we can have healthy children, too.

It’s just that they can make more money by taking shortcuts, by doing it cheaply, by ignoring the science, by corrupting public officials and subverting our democracy. They succeeded in turning two federal agencies, the FDA and the FCC, into models for agency capture. Those agencies no longer have any interest in protecting public health. They have become sock puppets for the industry that they are supposed to be regulating. The government and industry, they call their relationship a public-private partnership, and that should get us a little bit wary. They have made the space between government and regulators seamless, so you don’t know where one ends and the other begins. They’ve sold out the people of our country, they’ve sold out humanity, because everybody around the world looks to the FDA and FCC as the trusted regulators for science.

The 10,000 plus studies show that what they’re doing is horrendously dangerous. It’s doing terrible harm to human beings, to our brains, to our wildlife, to our health. They’ve taken all that and they’ve buried it.

What the court said to them today is, you cannot do that. You need to actually read the science. You need to do your job and protect public health.”


In the verdict, the court specifically referenced several aspects of evidence of harm that the FCC needs to address. They mentioned evidence on radiation sickness, electro-sensitivity (EHS), neurological effects, prenatal exposure, sperm damage, and damage to the blood-brain barrier. They mentioned oxidative stress, which has been established as a primary causal mechanism of harm. The court emphasized that the FCC failed to address evidence of harm to children, as well as inadequate testing procedures for cell phone radiation emission, the effects of long-term exposure, and the pulsation and modulation aspects of wireless radiation (how the data is transferred).

Interestingly, the court put a lot of emphasis on the FCC’s failure to address environmental harms. It’s likely that they gave this issue additional weight because one of the letters on the record was from another government agency. In 2014, the United States Department of the Interior wrote a letter expressing concern about the effects of cell phone towers on migratory birds, which also points out that the FCC guidelines are 30 years out of date. There is also a mass of other evidence included in the lawsuit indicating harm to plants, animals and the weather.


The FCC lost the case. What happens next?

The ball is back in the FCC’s court, and they are now tasked with either providing substantial evidence that supports their decision not to update their guidelines (which doesn’t exist), or to go to work on changing their guidelines to actually reflect not just increased modern exposure levels, but also non-thermal effects.

It’s possible that they will appeal the case, just to buy time, and continue rushing the implementation of more and more 5G antennas. Their decades-long strategy of ignoring the evidence that continues to pile up is only delaying the inevitable, so that may continue to be their only strategy for a while longer, putting their lies and deceit on a life support system to stave off death for another few breaths.

The alternative, which is actually changing their guidelines to reflect the truth of what we currently know to be the harms of wireless radiation, could send the whole wireless communications system as we know it into upheaval.

The telecoms would have to backtrack so far, and take down so many of their existing antennas and infrastructure because it will surely exceed healthy exposure levels, when these risks are finally acknowledged and officially admitted. They would have to recall most of the cell phones on the market, or at least provide public notices warning cell phone users of potential harm to their health and offering guidelines for safer use.

Or, if the cell phone companies are innovative and adaptable in any way, the best thing may be for them to actually utilize their own patents for technological additions to the phones that decrease exposure and increase safety!

These changes may be slow going. We have every reason to expect that the FCC will draw out this process as long as legally possible, because they are mainly concerned about the profits of the telecom companies that pull their strings, and do not actually care about the health of living organisms on this planet.

The favorable verdict of this case will most definitely affect several other active cases against the FCC and telecoms, including the 70+ active cases on brain tumors caused by cell phones, and the OTARD case that contests placing 5G repeater antennas on private properties without the consent of neighbors who will be affected by the radiation.

There are some kinds of changes that can happen far more quickly. This will be the general public’s crumbling respect for the FCC, one person at a time, now that the court system has acknowledged their inadequacies and corruption. Word of mouth is the most powerful force that will spread this awareness far and wide. For many people, “the FCC says it’s safe” has been the only reason they dismiss the increasing health concerns and continue to use their cell phones in unsafe ways, keep their Wifi routers turned on all the time, allow the installation of wireless “smart” meters on their properties, continue to buy myriad “smart” devices for their homes, and not consider utilizing effective forms of EMF protection.

The illusion of safety that the FCC has been using to prop up public confidence just crumbled, and everyone needs to hear about it.

The best thing all of us can do at this point is spread the word! If anyone has ever told you that wireless radiation is not a health concern because “the FCC says it’s safe”, send them this article. Share this information with your children’s school, and local government officials who are able to influence local laws. Word of mouth between individuals can make change far more quickly than the movement of these slow, cumbersome regulatory organizations. Also, the more awareness the public has about these issues, the more pressure we put on these organizations to address them and change their tune to support public and environmental health.
