Active vs. Passive EMF Protection: Can a Non-Powered Device Truly Impact an Entire Room?
Passive EMF protection products without their own power cannot establish a dominant, coherent signal across a whole room because they lack an internal power source, timing control, and the ability to maintain a structured reference signal independent of the constantly changing ambient electromagnetic environment. Instead, they only interact locally in the near field, whereas powered, dynamic signaling systems can emit a consistent reference that biology can respond to more reliably.
Many Americans believe that if the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) makes a statement that something technology related is true, they can be trusted with their word, and are the foremost authority regarding the safe and appropriate use of radiation-emitting wireless devices. The actual truth is that the FCC is under a lot of pressure right now to prove what they claim regarding the safety of radiofrequency (RF) radiation, as much evidence the contrary is amassing rapidly.
We have been closely following a court case and lawsuit against the FCC that started almost four years ago that will have profound implications in protecting the health of people, animals and the environment from harmful and excessive wireless electromagnetic field exposure. The last piece of big news was in August of 2021, when the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled against the FCC, determining that they have not adequately considered the health and environmental effects of RF radiation when reviewing (and deciding not to update) their official safety guidelines. The verdict of this case put the ball back in the FCC’s court, requiring that they acknowledge and respond to ALL the current studies about RF harm to living organisms, and to change their guidelines accordingly.
We wrote about this first big court win in our August 2021 article, Court Rules FCC Guidelines Are Not Proven Adequate in Protecting Health & Environment.
It has been over one and a half years since the FCC was tasked with either providing substantial evidence that supports their decision not to update their guidelines (which doesn’t exist), or to go to work on changing their guidelines to actually reflect not just increased modern exposure levels, but also non-thermal effects.
Guess what they have done since then? Literally nothing, and none of us are surprised.
Just as we predicted in 2021, their plan of action is to delay their responsibility as much as they can possibly get away with. The only alternative would be to change their guidelines, or provide evidence that supports their initial decision not to change them. Changing guidelines would be highly problematic to the telecommunications infrastructure, making it very clear how much they side with the telecoms and not the American people. Providing truly adequate and thorough evidence supporting their previous guidelines (established in 1996, when barely anyone had a cell phone) is impossible, which leaves them with their one remaining tactic: avoidance and delay.
The Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and Environmental Health Trust (EHT), the plaintiffs in this lawsuit, know the FCC’s delay tactics well. After giving them a reasonable period of time to perform their court-ordered duty, the plaintiffs filed a new petition to open the case back up, rekindling the pressure on the FCC.
CHD’s petition stated, “The Commission cannot just sit on this matter any longer… Any continued non-action will violate the judgment and mandate and expose the Commission to further judicial review and, ultimately, a mandamus order requiring action.”
A mandamus is an order from a court (like the U.S. Court of Appeals) to an inferior government official or agency (like the FCC) ordering the government official or body to properly fulfill their official duties, or correct an abuse of discretion. It is when the decision of a higher government authority overrides, and requires specific action from, a lesser government body.
FCC also being pressured by looming September deadline from environmental agency
This lawsuit and the court ruling is not the only fire compelling the FCC into action. The Council on Environmental Equality (CEQ) is the federal agency responsible for determining the rules and legalities of the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA). The CEQ has issued a set of revisions to the Protection of the Environment rules that require the FCC to consult with them regarding the environmental impact of RF radiation.
CHD attorney Scott McCullough explains, “The FCC’s emission rules [about RF radiation] have always been purely about human exposure. They do not address limits for exposure to birds, bees, trees, etc… But the CEQ rules — which they have to update to match — make plain that NEPA procedures are all about [the] impact to the entire human environment, not just humans. The science is telling us RF is harming not only people but also wildlife, trees and especially pollinators.”
With two government agencies both requiring updated safety guidelines from the FCC, from two different angles, some kind of action is going to have to be taken on their part. We are very curious to observe their next move, as they cannot ignore and dismiss the mounting evidence of harm for much longer. Their time is running out!
Children’s Health Defense is ruthlessly dedicated to the health of living organisms
When it comes to big government agencies, history has demonstrated time and again that they love to play dirty and get their way, no matter who gets stepped on or decimated in the process. This is the case for big tech (the telecoms and the FCC), big pharma, and the big food, chemical and energy industries. It’s going to take individuals and organizations who are ruthlessly dedicated to protecting the health of innocent people, animals and the environment to take on these seemingly powerful entities who are clearly not looking after our best interests. We need someone who is on our side, and also has enough power and influence to make a big difference.
Children’s Health Defense was founded by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., world renowned environmental activist and attorney of the famed Kennedy family. Kennedy has been actively advocating for the health of humans and the environment for over 30 years, and is primarily focused on protecting living beings from the detrimental health effects of water pollution (especially pesticides and herbicides), vaccine dangers, and the dangers of radiofrequency radiation exposure.
At Blushield USA, we strongly believe in the CHD mission, and choose to support them by donating a portion of our monthly profits to support their organization, and specifically their radiofrequency and 5G related actions! This means that when you purchase a Blushield device to protect yourself and your family from the harms of electromagnetic fields, a little bit of your purchase total is funding important court cases like the one outlined in this article! You are helping to bring widespread awareness to the harms of EMFs, and in the long and hard fight to hold these agencies accountable for their actions.
We will continue to keep you updated with all the progress made in this court case against the FCC, as well as all related CHD projects to bring awareness and positive change in the area of EMFs!
Is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. running for U.S. President?
You may have heard the rumor, and the rumor is true… Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., founder of Children’s Health Defense, has taken the first steps to run for President of the United States in 2024. He will be running as a Democratic candidate, against Joe Biden. As the nephew of U.S. President John F. Kennedy and U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, and the son of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, this path is right up his alley.
He has been considering running for President in 2024 for a while now, but just last Wednesday, April 4th, Kennedy filed the requisite paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.
For his campaign, Kennedy states, “My top priority is to end the corrupt merger between state and corporate power that has ruined our economy, shattered the middle class, polluted our landscapes and waters, poisoned our children and robbed us of our values and freedom.”
Kennedy founded CHD after being approached by countless numbers of parents concerned about the alarming rise in childhood chronic diseases, who urged him to look beyond the narratives of mainstream media and government agencies to find the true root causes of this tragic phenomenon.
He explains further, “After carefully reviewing the science, it was clear to me that vaccines and other toxic environmental exposures were inextricably linked to rising rates of autism, allergies, autoimmune disorders and a host of other conditions. I knew I could never turn my back on the children and families so profoundly affected by these exposures. My commitment to health freedom, preventing future injuries, unmasking those responsible and holding them accountable will never diminish.
We are not endorsing any Presidential candidate, but we think it's great that he's running, as his campaign for the next year and a half will inevitably result in a widespread dissemination of information and awareness about the harms of wireless radiation, as well as other pervasive toxic exposures that are slowly degrading the health of all Americans, currently unbeknownst to the vast majority of them.
With knowledge comes power, and a flood of knowledge into the minds of mainstream America is sure to move the bar in the direction of a healthier and more humanitarian future.

5G finally seems to be in full swing, whether we like it or not, and we are all adjusting in our own way. Coping with this new technological element will look different for each of us. Many of us are choosing to stay in the cities and fight to bring awareness of the dangers of EMFs and 5G, or even to affect change in local legislation to prevent new cell towers from being built. Many others, especially the more sensitive ones, are moving further and further from the cities into rural areas to seek out a personal sanctuary from the ever increasing harmful frequencies. Awareness of EMF protection solutions is also increasing rapidly, as many people are taking precautionary measures to protect themselves and their families from the exponentially greater EMF onslaught that 5G has brought, by using EMF protection devices like Blushield. Many people are also finding ways to protect themselves nutritionally, utilizing specific foods, herbs and supplements, especially substances with special and potent antioxidant compounds that can reduce and buffer the oxidative stress caused by EMFs.
So we are all adjusting to the presence of 5G in our lives in various ways. Then one day, you start hearing all this hype and excitement about 6G, or even 10G, being available now! This is a confusing and overwhelming message to process if we feel like we’ve finally found our strategies to cope with 5G. It makes you feel like they’re moving so fast that there’s no way you can keep up!
Our intention with this article is to clear up the hype and misleading information, and examine what’s actually true and what’s just marketing terminology designed to sell products and services instead of truly and accurately educating the public about current technology.
Xfinity 10G – are they already making 5G exponentially more powerful?
You may have heard about the Xfinity 10G service that is now available. Comcast (who provides the service) purchased advertising slots for their Xfinity service during the Super Bowl, so it has inevitably become all the rage of new internet services.
Since 5G is designed to be exponentially faster than 4G wireless service, does this mean that Comcast has broken through into hyperspace and jumped way ahead of everyone else? If so, is this service going to expose us to far more EMFs than the current 5G?
Not at all! The truth is, the ‘10G’ in the brand name is just a clever, and very misleading, marketing term.
You may know already that 5G means 5th Generation, referring to the fifth time that wireless technology has been redesigned and upgraded to support faster speeds and higher capacity data transfer.
10G, the term that Comcast is using for their new cable internet service, Xfinity, refers to the 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) download speeds that they strive to eventually provide to their customers. It’s not a wireless service at all, beyond the Wifi router that’s used to broadcast the service within the home of a subscriber. The actual internet service is delivered to the home through the same old fashioned coaxial copper cable wiring that gave us cable TV – just at much faster speeds.
It is obvious that this marketing term was created to make the product sound way more impressive than it actually is. It’s misleading and confusing, unless you know exactly what it’s referring to, and is meant to create massive demand for what sounds like a cutting edge service. The truth is, this service cannot even offer anything close to its implied-via-advertising 10 gigabits per second download speeds – the maximum speed, if you get the most expensive plan they offer and it happens to be available in your area, is only 1.2 gigabits per second! Most plans they offer are considerably slower than that.
Besides the Wifi router that is almost always used to distribute this cable service to all the connected devices in the home, you will not be exposed to more EMFs from this service. The Wifi frequencies used to broadcast this cable service are within the usual Wifi range of 2.4 to 6 gigahertz (GHz), which is in the same frequency spectrum as mid band 5G. Since Wifi routers have a very small coverage area, then unless you have signed up for this service yourself, you won’t be getting exposed to much or any of the EMFs from the Wifi… maybe a little bit if your neighbor has the service and you can pick up their Wifi signal.
Another helpful thing to be aware of is if you get your internet through a cable network (or a fiber optic network), you always have the option to wire all your devices using ethernet cables, since all Wifi routers and most computers have ethernet ports. This will drastically reduce your daily EMF exposure, since there won’t be ambient radiofrequency radiation in the airspace of your home at all times. It will be concentrated and channeled through the cables instead of transmitted wirelessly.
Xfinity is claiming faster speeds than 5G wireless internet services, which is quite an easy accomplishment, since any up-to-date wired internet service will always be faster than wireless. Any copper cable internet, and fiber optic internet, are much better choices – for faster speeds AND for your health – than getting all your internet from the nearest 5G tower. It’s even better if you forego the Wifi and connect your devices directly through ethernet cables!
Another thing to note, if you’re starting to think this Xfinity service sounds great, is that there are several other cable service providers who are offering around the same speeds, or even faster speeds. Cable and fiber optic wired internet connections have always been, and always will be, faster and more reliable than wireless. The Xfinity cable service is just now choosing to highlight that they are faster than 5G, by making potential customers think they’ve revolutionized tech with their ‘10G’ service, which is really just about the same quality service as all other current cable and fiber optic internet options.
One more caution, if you’re considering signing up for a cable internet service like Xfinity, is that the Wifi options they provide will increase your EMF exposure because they run all three Wifi frequency bands – 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and now also 6 GHz – simultaneously, to limit interference between devices and therefore increase speeds. However, any cable or fiber optic internet service, including Xfinity, could be a great choice if you use ethernet instead of wireless, as you will be able to avoid the increased Wifi band exposures.
What about 6G – is it here yet?
Another issue lately is there’s a lot of talk about 6G being already available in various places. 6G refers to 6th Generation wireless technology, the planned upgrade to the currently utilized 5G.
The first important thing to realize is that 6G is simply a marketing term, and what’s more relevant is what they actually mean by 6G – what frequencies are being used, how much antenna density needs to happen, and other aspects of the nature of 6G versus the current 5G.
According to Next G Alliance, who are spearheading wireless technology upgrades in the United States, plans to begin implementing 6G will start in 2030, at the very earliest. Even then, it will take many years to fully transition from the current 5G (which is still heavily reliant on 4G infrastructure) to 6G, and the two will coexist for many years.
Theoretically, 6G will implement speeds from 95 GHz up to 3 THz (terahertz). In reality, 6G doesn’t even exist yet. There are several problems that need to be overcome for these kinds of speeds to become a reality. The main issue with millimeter waves (95 GHz and higher) is they have a very short range, and are easily blocked by solid objects. The faster the frequency, the tighter its waveform is, so it just doesn’t have the width to move around objects like trees, or even to penetrate denser atmospheric conditions like rain or even high humidity. Any frequency beyond 300 GHz (the maximum frequency that 5G plans on utilizing) is considered to be within the far infrared spectrum, and only has a range of several meters. If these frequencies were actually utilized, to provide uninterrupted service there would have to be antennas or repeaters placed every several meters! This would be unimaginably expensive and unsightly.
The most major hurdle to higher capacity wireless technology that tech companies are completely ignoring is the health effects. Even just the 5G that has been implemented so far, which is still only a small fraction of its full capacity, is causing health crises for a large number of people who didn’t previously realize they were sensitive to EMFs. As usage of higher frequencies (centimeter to millimeter waves) begins to happen in more places, and densification of antenna numbers continues, there will likely be a cascading effect of health issues that people will eventually realize is being caused by radiofrequency radiation exposure. The planned widespread usage of millimeter waves in the high gigahertz to terahertz range that 6G proposes could result in such large scale health crises that there simply won’t be enough people feeling healthy and functional enough to utilize and enjoy the services, ultimately putting the telecoms out of business.
Will my Blushield still protect me when the next wireless generations come along?
We updated our technology a few years ago, in response to the anticipated 5G rollout, to protect from frequencies up to 300 GHz. Previously, Blushield devices would emit a biologically coherent scalar field for a couple seconds at a time, then shut off until 30 seconds later, when the field would be emitted again for a couple seconds. For most types of EMFs, this on-and-off pattern offered plenty of coherent field exposure to protect the body.
However, centimeter and millimeter waves, as well as the beamforming nature specific to 5G creates a much more concentrated, intense effect on the body. Our response to this was to add another microprocessor, in addition to the classic Blushield on-and-off waveform, and this extra microprocessor produces a continuous scalar field based on Phi ratio patterns. The two microprocessors work in tandem, and the continuous field holds the body’s entrainment much more effectively in the presence of intense EMFs, like close range 5G.
Currently, 5G rarely operates past the 40 GHz spectrum, and usually at much lower frequencies than that (10-22 GHz seems common). While theoretically 5G will reach frequencies up to 300 GHz, there are significant limitations to the practicality of this, as we explained previously. The proposed 6G is unlikely to reach anywhere near 300 GHz for quite a while after its implementation. So for now, and throughout the next decade or longer, if you have the appropriate strength dual band home and portable devices for your overall EMF exposure levels, you are well protected against the frequency ranges currently in use!
The main concern at this point is antenna densification. That means adding more and more antennas to any given area, to provide continuous coverage for the shorter and more vulnerable wavelengths that 5G uses. The way we monitor antenna densification in any given area is by using the Antenna Search website. You can enter any address to find out how many cell towers and antennas are currently within a 3 mile radius of that address. Over the past few years since the 5G rollout began, we have noticed a considerable increase in antenna numbers almost everywhere.
All our dual band devices will protect from frequencies up to 300 GHz, but you will want to make sure that the Blushield model you have produces a field of a strong enough amplitude (strength) to match or exceed the density of EMFs you’re exposed to. That way, your body’s cells will be able to perceive (and entrain with) the Blushield instead of reacting to the harmful EMFs.
Please read our Blushield Product Guide to find out which Blushield home and portable models will give you optimal protection for your living situation and needs.
If you want to "future proof" to ensure that your Blushield model is strong enough to protect you well into the future, especially if you currently live in a high EMF urban area, choosing one of our strongest home models is a great move. There are no downsides to having a Blushield device that's stronger than the minimum strength you need right now, and there are a lot of benefits to planning for the future by acquiring a stronger Blushield model now.
For excellent protection if you're concerned about 5G densification and the eventual 6G rollout in the future, going with our heavy duty C1 Ultimate Cube would be a great choice. For even more robust protection, our newest models — the EVO Cube and EVO Pyramid — will give you the utmost protection possible from an EMF protection device, and may also provide additional benefits such as deeper sleep and an increased feeling of well-being.

5G Explained and What It Means for Health and Humanity
In conclusion, you don’t need to worry much about additional EMFs from either 6G or the so-called “10G”. Just make sure your Blushield model is strong enough for your overall EMF exposure, switch to wired internet (instead of Wifi) if you can, and don’t fall for the telecommunications companies’ marketing hype.
This guide answers the most common practical questions about Blushield - what it is, how it works, which home and portable devices to choose for your EMF exposure, how to set them up and care for them, what to expect, and the research behind the technology - so you can start using your devices with confidence.
You might be brand new to Blushield, wondering what it is and how to get started. Or you may already own Blushield devices but have lingering questions. You may even feel overwhelmed by the amount of information available on our website and across the internet about electromagnetic fields and EMF protection. If any of that sounds like you, this article is for you. We'll cover all the bases and answer the most common practical questions to help you understand this technology, why it's so important for living in the modern world, and how to get started once you've chosen your Blushield EMF protection devices.
What Is Blushield, Why Do I Need It, and How Does It Work?
Blushield is a unique, cutting-edge answer to the widespread problem of electromagnetic field exposure and the harm it causes to biological organisms - including humans, animals, and plants. Most EMF protection options on the market use blocking or shielding technology, or are objects placed near a person to passively absorb or "harmonize" the EMFs themselves. These methods have significant limitations, and we believe they shouldn't be relied on as primary EMF protection strategies.
Instead of interacting with, modifying, or blocking the EMFs, Blushield produces its own field - independent of the other EMFs - that the body creates a direct relationship with. This highly complex, infinitely varied field is based on the known patterns of nature that the body responds to in a healthy way: it is a pure scalar field. Scalar is considerably more bioactive and biocompatible than the transverse fields that cell phones, WiFi, and other modern electronics use as their carrier signal.
Because the Blushield field uses a power source (your home electricity, or a battery in the portables), it is considerably amplified compared to passive, inert devices. This enables the biologically coherent field to match or exceed the strength of the harmful EMFs, ensuring your body's cells continually notice it. Since it's so similar to the natural patterns we've lived alongside harmoniously for our entire existence, our cells preferentially entrain with (respond to) this field instead of the EMFs around us. Like a radio signal, our bodies "tune into" the natural frequency signature - and although the other EMFs are still present in the same space, our bodies are no longer "listening" and reacting to those incoherent frequencies.
Our cells are designed to tune into nature's subtly varied, complex patterns, and they perceive the repetitive frequencies from modern EMFs as foreign, unknown, and therefore potentially dangerous. Interpreting them as an actual physical invader, the body's immune system tries to attack the EMFs - but since there's nothing physically there to defeat, the fight continues 24/7 until the body's immune power is exhausted.
An excessive immune response that continues unabated for days, months, even years will eventually exhaust the body's deep energy reserves, leaving very little energy for functions essential to life, health, and longevity. The immune response itself also produces oxidative stress. That's fine if it's short-lived and the body recovers afterward - but prolonged oxidative stress from our own overactive immune response is dangerous and will eventually lead to DNA damage, which can result in many types of chronic degenerative disease.
Blushield protects the body from the known harms of electromagnetic fields by producing a competing field that the body preferentially entrains with - giving it a healthier option to resonate with, which removes the majority of the biological harm from the other EMFs.

How Do I Know Which Home and Portable Devices I Need?
The home and portable devices you choose should depend mainly on the overall EMF density of where you live and travel often - whether rural, small town, suburban, medium or large city, or dense metropolitan area. We have different-strength devices for areas of lesser or greater EMF density.
Our Phi Series models are perfect for rural areas and small towns (the Phi 02) and suburban areas and medium-sized cities (the Phi 03). If you're in a low-to-moderate population density area, you're likely exposed to low-to-moderate EMF levels and will do well with the Phi Series.
Our Premium and Ultimate Series models are designed for higher population densities, which almost always mean higher EMFs. The B1 Premium Cube is great for moderate-to-high EMF levels in medium-sized cities. The C1 Ultimate Cube is designed for large cities and dense metropolitan areas with high-to-extreme EMFs, including numerous nearby 5G antennas.
Our EVO Cube and EVO Pyramid are in a league of their own, with more than 4 times stronger protection than the C1 and a completely new Phi-based frequency algorithm optimized for sleep support, relaxation, and mental agility. They're ideal for the most EMF-dense metropolitan areas, or for anyone who wants the absolute strongest protection available.
If you still aren't sure which model is right for you, use our Find My Device tool - just enter your US address and we'll check the registered cell towers and licensed antennas near you (powered by FCC data) and recommend the right level of Blushield protection for your environment. For a deeper dive into how the models compare, see our Blushield Product Guide.
There's no harm in having more protection than you currently need - a good way to "future-proof" your investment is to get a home unit rated for a higher EMF density than where you live now, in case your area's EMFs increase. That way you won't have to upgrade later.
If you leave your house often, you'll be away from your stationary Blushield's protective field, so you'll want a portable device to bring with you for short outings. The simplest guidance: with a Phi 02 or 03 home unit, choose the Phi 01 Portable; with a B1 or C1 Cube, choose the Ultimate Portable, or the Sensitive Portable if you consider yourself electro-hypersensitive (EHS) or easily stressed; with an EVO Cube or EVO Pyramid, choose the EVO Portable. That said, it's totally fine to mix and match - a Phi home device with the Ultimate portable, a C1 Cube with an EVO Portable, and so on. See our Blushield Product Guide for more detail.
Do I Really Need a Home Unit, or Can I Get Away With Just a Portable?
You might assume you can buy a portable, carry it everywhere, and use it in place of a home unit - but there are several reasons this isn't ideal. A portable only protects a small personal area, needs to be carried everywhere, needs recharging fairly often, and won't emit a protective field while charging. Generally, portables aren't strong enough to initially entrain the body to the Blushield field, but they are strong enough to maintain the resonance your body has already established with a stronger home device, for shorter periods while you're out and about.
Recognizing and entraining with the Blushield field is a lot like learning a new skill. At first you have to put effort and focus into it, but once learned, it's much easier and almost automatic - like muscle memory. Your cells require a strong field to initially recognize and entrain with the Blushield field; once they're consistently resonating with it, they'll begin to expect its presence everywhere you go. Although a portable's field strength is just a fraction of a home unit's, your body is already seeking those field patterns, so it will resonate with the portable's field even if surrounding EMFs are much stronger overall. Just be sure to consistently revisit your home unit's strong field - especially at night when you sleep, since sleep is when your body does most of its repair and regeneration.
A stationary device offers a larger area of protection, so one device protects everyone in the house all the time, plus your front and back yards. It needs no downtime for recharging and should last many years. It's a little more expensive than a portable, but only one is needed per home or office. Portables, by design, are for use outside your plug-in protected area and are useful for traveling.
If you can only afford one device at first, it's best to invest in a home unit, then consider portable protection later. If you can afford a bundle pack, you can save money buying a home and portable device together.
Now That I've Placed My Order, How Does Shipping Work, and How Do I Get Started?
Once you've placed your order, it usually ships within 1-2 business days (longer during holidays, sales, and promotions) and typically arrives within 2-3 more business days with standard shipping. For faster delivery, choose the expedited Next Day option. You'll receive an email with your tracking number; we recommend following the updates so you know when to expect delivery, since you'll need to sign for the package. If you aren't home to sign, the post office will usually hold it for you to pick up in person. Read our full Shipping Policy here.
Once your order arrives, get your devices plugged in and protect you as soon as possible - it's a simple process. With your home device, plug it into a standard wall outlet; a light will turn on, meaning it's now emitting a protective field.
Many people place their home Blushield near the center of their home, but the coverage radius is so large that it will protect your entire house regardless of placement, so put it wherever you like. Your main consideration is a safe location where it won't get bumped or knocked over, tampered with by animals or children, or exposed to water or excessive humidity. The home devices emit a very large spherical field that easily covers even a large multi-story house, plus your front and back yards and beyond. The field strength is not diminished by walls, ceilings, or floors, so you get the same protection right next to it as you do several rooms away.
To get started with your portable, use a standard USB-C charger cord to fully charge it before first use. You probably already have a USB-C charger cord for another device you have, but if you need one, you can order one of our high quality USB-C charger cords here. Charging your device usually takes 1-3 hours, depending on the model. You will know it’s charging if you see the battery indicator lights blinking on the device. All four lights will be lit once it’s fully charged.
To turn the device on, you will need to hold down the button for a couple seconds, and then you will see the function indicator light on the left turn on.”
How Do I Care for My Devices to Maximize Their Lifespan?
Blushield home and portable units are designed to last. The stationary home units should last many years if well cared for - keep them in a protected area, away from water and excessive humidity, and safe from being bumped or knocked over.
Portable units should also last several years, but like a cell phone they're more prone to damage. Keep your portable protected (our Blushield portable pouches help a lot), clean, and dry. Keeping it in a protected area of your purse, pocket, or bag - not mixed in with other items where the charger port and power button could accumulate dirt and debris - is ideal. The most common causes of damage are dropping it on a hard surface or submerging it in water, which our warranty doesn't cover.
How Do I Know My Home and Portable Devices Are Working Properly?
Our newer models are "dual band" devices, while our older models (no longer sold on our site) are "mono band." The mono band devices emit a frequency field for a couple of seconds at a time, repeating every 30 seconds, with an "on and off" rhythm.
With dual band devices, we kept this original frequency algorithm and added a second one that works in tandem. The second field is constantly on, except that every half minute it's interrupted by the original field. Dual band devices are designed to protect from more intense EMF - like close-range 5G - and to help the body regenerate more quickly from any exposure still affecting it.
The EVO Cube and EVO Pyramid have a slight variation of our dual band output: the frequencies emit for a little over half a minute continuously, then turn off for about 5 seconds - a dynamic effect that ensures the body never gets used to the signal and tunes it out, but keeps responding to the field even after years of use. You'll see this as a tiny orange light that stays solidly lit most of the time but turns off occasionally for a few seconds.
Since 5G has become widespread, all devices we now carry are dual band, as we anticipate continued increases in 5G exposure and want to provide optimal protection now and into the future. Note that mono band devices do protect from general 5G exposure, but dual band gives much better protection from close-range 5G - such as being in direct line of sight or less than a quarter mile from one or more 5G antennas.
When you plug a dual band stationary home device into an outlet, you should see a light near where the power cord connects. That light should be solidly lit most of the time, but every half minute or so it flickers for a couple of seconds. This is evidence of the dual band nature: the flickering is the standard Blushield algorithm being emitted, and the solid light is the additional algorithm we added for better 5G protection. To check that your portable is working, look for the steady light that occasionally flickers when the device is on (remember to hold the power button a couple of seconds until the light comes on). Beyond that, reference the Quick Start Guide that came with your portable for the slight differences between each model.
What Should I Expect to Feel at First, and What Are the Longer-Term Effects?
Many people feel a difference immediately or within the first couple of weeks - sometimes subtle, sometimes more dramatic. Some people feel nothing at all, because the changes happen at the cell level, which many people can't tangibly feel (similar to how most people can't tangibly feel the harmful effects of EMFs).
Your experience will be unique to you, but the most commonly reported benefits are deeper sleep, more energy, improved mood and sense of well-being, and a reduction in various symptoms that may be attributable to EMF exposure - like chronic headaches, body pain, and inflammation - and even the alleviation of more serious symptoms and health issues. Many people previously unable to leave their house due to extreme EMF sensitivity find they can comfortably go out again.
Even though most people don't experience detox symptoms, it's totally normal to feel some discomfort during the first couple of weeks. It all depends on each person's body and how they respond to the new frequencies. If the body has spent a lot of energy "fighting" harmful EMFs for a long time and that stressor is suddenly removed, the body reallocates immune power and energy to deeper processes that need attention. This can sometimes cause a temporary increase in symptoms before they taper off and resolve, given continued exposure to coherent frequencies.
Some things that can help ease and speed up the acclimation process:
- Consume nutrient-dense foods
- Extra hydration with pure water
- Extra rest and naps
- Gentle movement
- Adaptogenic herbs like schizandra berry and chaga mushroom
- Specific nutritional supplements: vitamins C and E, magnesium, and melatonin
- Meditation or healthy stress-relieving activities
Commonly reported longer-term benefits include improved overall resilience and vitality, and decreased sensitivity to EMFs over time - even if you occasionally forget your portable or travel for several days without your stronger home device. Over time, the body becomes better at "holding" the coherent frequency field for longer, and simply has more vital energy available to deal with all kinds of modern stressors.
Will Blushield Interfere With My Cell Phone Service or WiFi Signal?
No, not at all. Since Blushield is not a blocking or shielding device, it won't interfere with the signal from your cell phone or other devices. Blushield provides protection directly at the cell level of living organisms. It exists alongside the EMFs emitted by your other devices (including cell phones and WiFi), but gives your body a healthier option to resonate with, removing the majority of the biological harm from the other EMFs.
How Can I Travel With My Blushield Devices?
We highly recommend traveling with your Blushield! You can safely bring your portable on airplanes, and that may be enough to protect you during short trips. If you're traveling for two or more nights, it's best to take your home device as well for optimal protection. Read our article on traveling with Blushield for more tips and tricks.
Have Blushield Devices Been Studied for Effectiveness?
Yes! We've done various tests and studies, the first being grassroots-style "real world" tests on animals and humans back in 2012. The dairy cow and chicken testing was done on farms in New Zealand whose operators wanted to try Blushield and tracked the results. In the dairy cow somatic cell count tests, farmers had observed for decades that after a TV mast was installed in that part of New Zealand in the '70s, the cows' stress levels rose - indicated by their suddenly needing salt blocks for extra minerals (which they hadn't needed before) and the somatic cell count (white blood cells) in their milk rising considerably. When Blushield was introduced, those levels returned to normal, pre-EMF-exposure healthy levels.
The poultry farm study was done in a factory-farm setting where chickens are crammed into one barn - an unnatural environment that results in excessive deaths and high stress (indicated by lots of clucking). The facility was high in EMFs due to its automated chicken houses. Simply introducing Blushield lowered the hens' stress levels, drastically decreased deaths, brought blood parasites down to zero, and substantially improved egg quality.
The human tests were done by doctors who measured various health markers in the blood or urine of people using Blushield, both before they started and after about a month of use. The results were quite significant for just one change in the environment. We also have customers interested in blood testing who tested themselves before and after using Blushield, with positive results.
Because those older studies were grassroots-style, we wanted to put our technology through more scientific scrutiny, so we conducted an independent review board certified clinical study on 25 adults, recently accepted for publication by the scientific journal IMCJ. This makes us the first EMF protection category product with a study that's PubMed-indexed and published in a scientific journal. In this study, statistically significant improvements were found across several markers of cognitive function, voltage-gated calcium channel gene expression (notably linked to EMF harm), sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV), blood glucose, and immune markers.

What do you know about melatonin? Almost everyone has heard of it, and knows a little bit about it. To most people, it is known as the sleep hormone, because it regulates our day/night circadian rhythm, and induces deep sleep in the absence of external light sources. However, what most people know about melatonin is just the tip of the iceberg, and the benefits of this endogenous neurohormone go SO much deeper!
Melatonin is also known as N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine. Most of the body’s melatonin is produced in the pineal gland, which is a small gland that resides in the middle of the brain, although not inside the blood brain barrier like most of the brain. Melatonin that is produced endogenously (by the body itself) begins from tryptophan (an essential amino acid) derived from dietary sources, then goes through several conversions that utilize nutrient cofactors also sourced from the diet, including niacin, magnesium, iron, vitamin C and zinc. If all of these nutrients are continually present in sufficient quantities, AND there is adequate darkness during the nighttime hours, melatonin will be secreted into the bloodstream in optimal amounts. One intermediary step in the conversion of tryptophan to melatonin within the pineal gland is the creation of serotonin, an essential neurotransmitter that regulates mood, memory, learning, body weight and much more.
Why is melatonin so important? Many consider melatonin to be one of the body’s master hormones, possibly even the single most important one, when considering all of its roles in the body. It is considered a neurohormone, which means that it’s secreted into the bloodstream for systemic use (like a hormone), but it also plays the role of a neurotransmitter. It can be considered to be the body’s master antioxidant, and it promotes the expression of other endogenous antioxidants like superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione. It has been proven to be twice as active as vitamin E, which is considered a lipophilic super antioxidant. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory substance, and has wide ranging systemic benefits to every single bodily system and function. The importance of this molecule cannot be overstated!
Melatonin is also considered the ultimate anti-stress hormone, since it opposes cortisol in the circadian cycle. Light stimulates cortisol, and darkness stimulates melatonin. Melatonin should be present in our bloodstream in adequate levels throughout the night, then when light reaches our eyes in the morning, this sends a message to our pineal gland to shut off melatonin production, triggering the production of cortisol in our adrenal glands. This gives us the energy boost and motivation needed to get out of bed and start our day. We actually want this cortisol boost in the morning hours, as it’s the “get up and go” hormone! However, too much cortisol later in the day is very stressful to the body, and prevents relaxation and healing.
Although much of the body’s melatonin is secreted in the pineal gland in response to darkness cues, there is a vast quantity of melatonin produced in the gut as a protective agent and to encourage the propagation of healthy gut flora. Additionally, melatonin is produced in all of the body’s mitochondria (which produce the energy that fuels every single bodily process), specifically to quench the oxidation and inflammation that’s an unavoidable byproduct of our cellular energy production itself. If melatonin is lacking in the mitochondria, toxic waste and inflammation will clog up our cells over time, leading to a systemic energy deficiency and toxic buildup.
Melatonin is a vital player in our immune function, to ensure that it responds quickly and strongly to fight off invaders, AND calms down as soon as the invaders are defeated. If the immune system is dysfunctional, it can overreact and continue to produce inflammatory cytokines even when the invading microbes are gone, contributing to dangerous chronic inflammation that can lead to autoimmune conditions and “cytokine storms”. As one of our main endogenous anti-inflammatory agents, it plays the role of calming unneeded inflammatory cytokines and restoring immune homeostasis to prevent exhaustion from an overactive or chronic immune response.
Melatonin is destroyed by light and EMFs
Now that we’ve established the vital importance of melatonin to our overall health, we need to acknowledge an unfortunate truth: several prominent aspects of our modern lifestyles considerably deplete melatonin. Early in the day, exposure to light is important and totally necessary to build up our serotonin reserves. Then, when darkness comes, a large quantity of this serotonin is converted to melatonin, flooding our bloodstream with that cozy, sleepy feeling, ensuring that we get adequate deep sleep at night. However, this natural circadian cycle is easily disrupted. If you are exposed to artificial light sources at night, specifically in the higher frequency blue and green portions of the light spectrum, melatonin release will be suppressed, and will not occur in optimal quantities to achieve deep sleep and the healing and regenerative cascade that results from adequate sleep. Also, when darkness is provided adequately at night and melatonin begins to be released into your bloodstream, and then you are suddenly exposed to light (like turning on a light to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night), it has been shown that melatonin in the bloodstream quickly disappears. Basically, light exposure inhibits melatonin release, and almost instantaneously destroys any melatonin that is currently circulating.
Fortunately, the effects of artificial light on melatonin has become much more widely known in recent years! There are several excellent solutions to this, including switching out your nighttime lighting to the orange or red light spectrum (which has little to no effect on melatonin), using dimmer switches to reduce the intensity of light in the evening hours, or wearing “blue blocking” glasses if you have to be exposed to the brighter spectrum of light after dark.
A much lesser known melatonin disruptor is electromagnetic fields. The exact mechanism of why EMFs decrease and interrupt melatonin production is not fully known, but it is theorized that the pineal gland perceives EMFs as a form of light that artificially stimulates wakefulness and prevents or interrupts restful sleep. Although the mechanism hasn’t been concretely established, there are quite a large number of studies that have established a causal relationship between EMFs and reduced melatonin levels.
Several studies have linked EMFs with reduced calcium ion homeostasis in cells, which also reduces melatonin as a byproduct. Disturbances in the sensitive voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) produce large quantities of free radicals, and it could be that melatonin, the body’s primary antioxidant, is being used up to quench this excessive oxidation, leaving very little melatonin left to be used for sleep, regeneration and other essential daily functions.
Here are a couple of reviews of many separate studies linking EMFs, VGCCs and reduced melatonin levels:
- Pineal Melatonin Levels Disruption on Human Due to Electromagnetic Fields and ICNIRP Limits
- Skeptical approaches concerning the effect of exposure to electromagnetic fields on brain hormones and enzyme activities
In addition to those, there are dozens more studies that separately link EMFs with reduced melatonin levels, and EMFs with voltage-gated calcium channel disturbances. The studies that have linked EMF exposure with VGCC disturbance (especially Dr. Martin Pall’s research) found that it’s something about the way these artificial EMFs are structured (how they are modulated and pulsed to carry wireless information) that causes the calcium channel flooding and resulting oxidative stress. This may be why natural electromagnetic fields from the Earth and cosmos do not have the same harmful effect – they are structured differently, and the body generally does not perceive these natural frequencies as a threat, with some exceptions (excessive ionizing radiation from the sun, and geopathic stress caused by specific areas of disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field).
Optimal melatonin levels protect from the harmful effects of EMFs
It has been established that modern day artificial electromagnetic fields reduce our endogenous melatonin production, most likely through the mechanism of calcium channel flooding. In an ultimate catch 22 situation, many other studies have also established that optimal melatonin levels have powerful protective effects against these exact same EMFs.
Just to clarify, one of the most powerful natural substances capable of protecting us from EMF harm is being actively depleted by these same EMFs! This is definitely a conundrum.
Here are just a few (of many!) studies that demonstrate the protective effects of melatonin against harm from electromagnetic fields:
- Melatonin modulates wireless (2.45 GHz)-induced oxidative injury through TRPM2 and voltage gated Ca2+ channels in brain and dorsal root ganglion in rat
- Melatonin reduces oxidative stress induced by chronic exposure of microwave radiation from mobile phones in rat brain
- Melatonin modulates 900 Mhz microwave-induced lipid peroxidation changes in rat brain
- Oxidative stress-mediated skin damage in an experimental mobile phone model can be prevented by melatonin
What can we do about this? Obviously, protecting our melatonin becomes vitally important, especially if we are EMF hypersensitive, or simply interested in optimal health and longevity. The vicious cycle of EMF induced melatonin depletion and the subsequent increase in oxidation and inflammation, which leads to increased EMF reactivity, needs to be halted for balance to be achieved.
Since this stress cycle has been well underway for a long time for most modern humans, and our lifestyles inherently increase this stress from multiple angles, achieving homeostasis needs to be a multifaceted approach.
The “melatonin pyramid” found in this melatonin study is quite helpful for understanding the multiple steps that need to be taken to optimize melatonin levels:

Obviously, the most important factor in optimal natural melatonin production is having adequate darkness at night. This means you need to protect your sleep space by ensuring there are no lights in your bedroom, and that you aren’t exposed to any bright lights during the night – a small red light can be helpful if you need to use a nightlight during the night. This also means you want to keep your home lights as dim as possible within a couple hours of bedtime. Having a cap on electronic device use at night is also important, as our computer and cell phone screens emit very high frequency blue light. If you need to look at your phone or computer in the evening, there are dimming mechanisms and apps you can use to reduce the brightness of your screen to as low levels as possible.
Next, to ensure that your body has the raw materials to produce enough melatonin, make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet, especially tryptophan. The body cannot synthesize tryptophan and needs to get it from dietary sources. Additionally, your body needs plenty of the vitamin and mineral cofactors mentioned at the beginning of this article, which are essential in the conversion from tryptophan to serotonin and melatonin, so eating a nutrient rich diet is essential!
Consuming plenty of anti-inflammatory foods helps take the burden off your melatonin, so it isn’t solely responsible for quenching all oxidative stress in your body, making more melatonin available for other essential processes. Also, many plant foods (including nuts, cherries and rice) contain small amounts of melatonin, since plants produce melatonin as part of their own defense against oxidative stress. By eating these plants, we can get minute amounts of melatonin directly, bypassing the normal conversion process.
Lastly, if we really need a boost to get back on track, there are high quality melatonin supplements on the market that can be worth experimenting with. Melatonin is extremely well studied, has a high safety profile, and contrary to common belief, supplementing does not decrease your endogenous melatonin production.
Using Blushield to protect your melatonin
Of course, there is one more section we would add to the melatonin pyramid: using Blushield devices in your home, especially at night during sleep!
As noted above, manmade electromagnetic fields (especially from wireless devices) cause calcium channel flooding, massively increasing oxidative stress, but natural electromagnetic fields from the Earth do not have this effect. Blushield devices emit a field that’s very similar to the frequencies found in nature, and have been shown in our human and animal tests to calm the overactive immune response and restore normal cellular function. As a byproduct, this will protect and conserve our melatonin levels, as our melatonin will not need to be used up to quench the stress from the EMFs!
One of the most common reports we get from Blushield users is deeper and more restful sleep, either immediately or after the initial acclimation period. This is most likely due to the increase in available melatonin that the body is no longer using up to quench the fires of oxidation due to our own excessive immune response, which can then be used for the vital regenerative process of sleep. Consistent high quality sleep improves health in every way, and can protect against chronic and degenerative disease.
One of the beautiful things about the winter months is the increased hours of darkness, which under ideal circumstances would allow us to deeply restore and regenerate our bodies from the stresses of the brighter, more active times of the year, healing and preparing us for another cycle of increased light and activity! Optimizing our sleep during the winter is an amazing health and longevity strategy that takes nature’s own most powerful cycle into consideration.
As the holidays approach, many of us plan on enjoying vacation time to visit family and celebrate. These days, family members often travel cross country, or even to other countries further away, to be with each other. Holiday travel is notoriously stressful, due to the higher than usual crowds of people, all needing to get where they’re going before the festivities begin. People often travel with gifts, resulting in bulkier and heavier baggage to lug between connecting flights, and have to meet up with ground transportation at their destination, also among crowds of others on the same tight timelines.
In addition to all these obvious stresses, in modern times we absolutely have to factor in extremely high EMF exposure from exponentially more technology use than ever before. Next time you go to an airport, look around you, and notice how many people are on their cell phones. I bet you will see more people on their phones than those not on their phones! Even better, if you have an EMF reading meter, take it to the airport and check the levels of radiofrequency radiation. I bet you will find that it goes into the “red” and even exceeds the measuring capabilities of your meter!
The truth is, airports are some of worst culprits for EMF exposure. They have higher concentrations of EMFs than almost anywhere else that humans set foot in. The navigation towers are radiofrequency emitters and receivers, assisting the planes in takeoffs and landings. To get a better idea of the dense concentration of radiation emitters and receivers at airports, check out this photo from the Antenna Search website of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and compare it to the area surrounding the airport (within the circle). All those blue dots are radiation emitting towers used in airplane navigation, and the red dots are cell service antennas. This search database identifies 3,294 towers and 510 antennas within a 3 mile radius. Wow!!

Every single one of those towers and antennas emits a radiofrequency field. When you’re in an airport, or inside of a plane waiting for takeoff, you are exposed to the EMFs from all of the radiofrequency emissions around you.
Even inside the airplane itself, while flying, you are being exposed to more radiation than ever before. To “better serve” their clients, airlines are providing stronger and stronger in-flight Wifi connections, and there are plans to equip many airlines with Starlink satellite internet soon (beginning in mid 2023), for even faster internet! Starlink operates within the high band spectrum of 5G, between 10 and 72 gigahertz, which has a high powered, laser-focused mode of operation that can affect living organisms in the vicinity of its “beam” much more intensely than lower frequencies.
With passengers all packed together in a tight space, almost all of them using in-flight Wifi or other electronic devices, we have an EMF soup situation. Then you have to factor in the airplane itself, which is basically a Faraday cage that contains all EMFs produced within its walls, not allowing them to leave the massive aluminum tube that is the airplane itself. Instead, all those radiofrequency signals end up reflecting off the metal walls back into the same space, increasing exposure by at least 3 times compared to the same signal density in an open area.
To boot, we are exposed to the cosmic radiation from space at a much higher intensity at the high altitude of commercial air travel, which in itself gives our bodies a higher radiation load to process and recover from. All of this occurs after most of us get a large, sudden dose of radiation from walking through the airport body scanners, which use the same millimeter wave spectrum as high band 5G!
No wonder we feel terrible after we fly! We think it’s just “jet lag”, but the effects of this much EMF are bound to zap our energy, and at the beginning of what we intended as a fun, relaxing holiday vacation, all we feel like doing is hiding and sleeping it off.
This is also a major reason for the phenomenon of increased illness during or after travel. The high EMF load depresses our immune system, taking down our body’s defenses and increasing the likelihood that we will get sick from any little bug we encounter during our travels.
EMF protection tips for fun, stress-free air travel
The depressing story above is not the only experience available to us. Believe it or not, we CAN have a fun, stress-free holiday vacation, enjoy our flights, and arrive at our destination feeling healthy, energized and ready to enjoy the festivities!
Our frequent traveler customers see their Blushield portable (and home) devices as absolutely essential to a successful and enjoyable trip. The coherent field emitted by your portable can keep you feeling like you’re inside a bubble of protection – in a happy, calm place as you pass through the airport chaos that exists in the same physical space, yet you somehow don’t feel like you’re fully part of it! Even if you’re not sensitive enough to perceive your experience in that way, you will very likely feel a level of energy and mental clarity during and after your trip that you hadn’t experienced before.
On shorter trips lasting only a few days, you could just bring your Blushield portable, making sure you stay within its field during most of your trip, and keeping it charged up to make sure the protective field is active for the majority of your travel time.
On longer trips (a few days to a week or longer), we highly recommend also bringing your stationary home unit with you, and plugging it into the place you’re staying! This will give you much more complete protection, as you will be within its stronger field while you sleep at night, which is primarily when your body recovers and regenerates from any stress encountered during the day. As you go through your day with the milder field that your portable produces, it’s good to be able to “touch in” with the stronger field of your home unit to make sure your body maintains its entrainment to Blushield, and doesn’t start reacting to the many other EMFs you’ll be exposed to during travel. Also, when your portable inevitably needs to be recharged, you can make sure you’re still protected during those couple of hours without your portable’s active field.
Here are some logistical tips for traveling with your portable and home devices. We have never heard of anyone having issues bringing their portable onto the plane, and TSA will most likely not even ask about it. In the rare instance that someone asks as you’re going through the airport checkpoint, you can tell them it’s a device that reduces the effects of jet lag (since these people probably aren’t familiar with the concept of EMF protection, but everyone knows about jet lag). Since your portable only produces a scalar field, and not a radiofrequency or magnetic field, it won’t interfere with airline navigation systems.
If there is any question, point out the symbols on the back of your portable. These refer to safety certifications that our devices meet the requirements of several countries for electronic emissions – the FCC symbol is the one used for the United States, and means that our devices test at below the required threshold of electronic emissions that could potentially interfere with devices that utilize radiofrequency fields or magnetic fields, including airplane navigation, as well as medical devices like pacemakers.
You can keep your portable in your carry-on bag, or in your pocket, but if it’s in your pocket, be sure to place it in the tray with your keys and any other metallic objects when you’re walking through the body scanner, as it will set off the metal detector. Remember: you can always opt out of the body scanner for the “pat down” option, to avoid that extra big dose of EMFs!
If you choose to bring your Blushield home unit with you on vacation, you’ll want to make sure you pack it well so it won’t be damaged during travel. A padded camera bag, or something similar, is a great way to keep your home device protected during the sometimes bumpy luggage handling process. It’s also important to make sure you remove the power cord from the device when you pack them for travel, to avoid damage. Keeping it in your carry-on bag, rather than in checked baggage, will decrease the likelihood of damage even more, as carry-ons are treated more gently and you have more control over them.
Another cool thing about keeping your home device in your carry-on, especially during a longer flight, is that many flights now provide outlets to plug in AC powered devices. In those instances, you could actually enjoy your entire flight within the field of your stronger home device!
Road trips with Blushield
Many of us travel via air during the holidays, but in some instances it’s easier to avoid airplanes altogether, and take a road trip instead! When possible, this is a better option, and will expose you to much less EMFs overall.
Although a lot safer than air travel in terms of EMF exposure, car travel is still going to be considerably more EMF heavy than staying home. Similar to airplanes, cars also act as a Faraday cage with their metal frame and paneling, which will concentrate EMFs generated inside the car to at least 3 times the level you would be exposed to from those same sources in open space: read about the study that proved that in this article we wrote about cars and EMFs. These in-vehicle EMF sources include any cell phone or Bluetooth device used while traveling, GPS navigation systems, the electronics built into the car (especially if you have an electric vehicle), and even the vehicle’s motor itself.
You can minimize EMF levels during your road trip by keeping your phone on airplane mode when you’re not using it, and establishing wired connections between devices instead of using Bluetooth, such connecting your phone to your car’s speakers to play music or audio. Even minimizing use as much as possible, there will still be unavoidable exposures during your trip, which can zap your energy and leave you feeling funky. Keeping your Blushield portable turned on during your trip, especially if you also have a Blushield Auto running in your car, is a great way to boost your energy levels and have a much more fun and relaxing road trip! Road trips in general tend to be much longer than plane travel, sometimes spanning multiple days if you have to travel far, so it’s important to make sure you’re addressing EMF protection so you can last the long haul and still feel pretty good when you arrive!
Just as with air travel, we recommend bringing a home unit with you on longer trips. If you’re staying in hotel rooms, being able to plug your home unit into your room while you sleep can ensure you have the best sleeps possible while on the road! Blushield users who take frequent road trips will often choose to buy a smaller home unit like the Phi 02 Plugin specifically to use when you’re sleeping somewhere different every night, since it’s compact and light, and plugs directly into the wall with no power cord wires. However, if you usually travel to EMF dense big cities and metropolitan areas, it’s worth it to bring one of the stronger Blushield stationary models with you (like the B1 Cube or C1 Ultimate Cube), for optimal protection!
If you’re sleeping in the same room as your home device while traveling, you will probably want to cover it up with a cloth so that you won’t see the light on the device, which can interrupt some peoples’ sleep. However, be sure you remember to unplug it and take it with you when you leave! A great way to make sure you never forget your Blushield when you leave a hotel room is to keep other important items right under the outlet you plug your Blushield into, so that you’ll always see it when you’re about to leave.
One last tip to literally “top off” your protection strategy is to wear your Blushield hat while traveling by plane or car, shielding your head from the ambient EMFs around you. Although we don’t recommend shielding as your primary EMF protection strategy, it can be a wonderful adjunct to Blushield for a little bit of added protection. We just stocked a few new colors in our hat inventory, which you will want to check out if you haven’t yet seen them!
Plus, you will look cool, and your family might see the logo and ask you what Blushield is, and you’ll get to drop some info bombs about EMF protection during one of those fun holiday family discussions ;-)
Wishing you the happiest holidays from the Blushield Team!
Human society has undergone many significant changes in just the past 200 years. The Industrial Revolution, and discovering how to harness electromagnetic energy to benefit our lives, has ushered the presence of artificial electromagnetic energy into our daily lives. With the launch of 2G wireless technology in 1990, this energy was on its way to surrounding us 24/7. Now, in just 30 years since we began to experiment with the conveniences of wireless devices, the prevalence of EMF emitting technology has accelerated to exponential levels we can’t even comprehend. We are now in the age of 5G, which to function optimally needs receiving and transmitting antennas (repeaters) on almost every street corner!
Along with the drastic increase in EMFs due to humanity’s enthusiastic acceptance of this new way of life, has also come widespread questioning and skepticism regarding its safety when it comes to our health. More and more people are seeking protection from this thick blanket of frequencies that we are exposed to mostly without our consent – a respite from the constant stimulus. Even if you can’t tangibly “feel” the frequencies, many people have an intuitive sense that they need to get away from them – urgently if you’re a very sensitive person, or if you’re not consciously aware of them, you may just feel the occasional need to leave “the hustle and bustle of daily life”.
We want to get away from them, to place a barrier between these unwanted, uninvited, invisible intruders. They have entered our homes, which we consider to be our personal safe spaces to rest, recover and feel protected from the dangers of the world. Unfortunately, while the protective barriers of our cozy homes can keep out inclement weather, hostile physical intruders, and air and noise pollution, they cannot keep out the electromagnetic energy that saturates the area we live. These EMFs can come from electricity in our own home and RF radiation from our own wireless devices, but a large amount also comes from outside our home – nearby cell towers, smart electric meters, the neighbor’s Wifi or satellite internet, and even passing cars that are using data from phone calls and GPS navigation.
The idea of blocking, or shielding, EMFs is an obvious first thought. It seems like a simple and straightforward answer, and satisfies our mental need to put a barrier between ourselves and the energy we want to get away from.
In the EMF protection industry, the terms Faraday cages and shields, EMF and RF shields, and protective fabrics and materials have become well known.
How effective are these products for actually protecting our health from the effects of manmade EMF sources?
Is it the simple and straightforward solution that it seems to be, or are there complexities and nuances that we need to consider to ensure we have proper protection?
What is a Faraday cage, anyway?
So who is Faraday, and why is his cage such an important invention? We will have to go back to a time when no one was thinking about EMF protection, and the first experiments with electricity were being done by some very curious geniuses!
In the 1800s, English scientist Michael Faraday made some revolutionary discoveries about electricity. He is often called the “Father of Electricity” because he discovered that a changing magnetic field produces an electric field. Rather than observing or producing just electric energy, or just magnetic energy, this new understanding enabled us to intentionally produce electric and magnetic fields together, which is considerably more functional and dynamic. EMFs are called electromagnetic fields because there’s always an electric field and a magnetic field existing together, each perpetuating the other.
A conductor that’s placed inside a changing magnetic field (or moving through a stationary one) produces voltage across the conductor, which is called electromagnetic induction. This is also called Faraday’s Law in modern physics, since the phenomenon was first observed and described by Michael Faraday.
Faraday also discovered that an electric current aimed at a conductive metal container would distribute its charge across the entire surface of the box, without passing through the container into the inside. Therefore, the inside of the box was basically a “dead zone” with no measurable fields. Faraday reproduced an earlier experiment by Benjamin Franklin that was based on the same principles, but Faraday took it much further with several variations, all showing the same results, and actually explained the mechanism. He built a room coated with metal foil, and standing inside of it himself, allowed high-voltage discharges from an electrostatic generator to strike the outside of the room. He used an electroscope to show that there was no electric charge present on the inside of the room's walls.
Modern Faraday cages come in many forms, and are used for many purposes. They can be made from sheets of solid metal, or mesh, cage or grid-like patterns full of small or large holes. They can be made from many types of metal, as long as the metal is marginally to highly conductive. Common shielding materials include copper, silver, gold, aluminum, steel, and brass. Although steel is far less conductive than electron-rich precious metals like silver and copper, its practicality and low cost makes it a good choice for many kinds of Faraday cages.
Modern examples of Faraday cages
You may not realize it, but you are likely utilizing and interacting with Faraday cages every day! Cars and airplanes act as Faraday cages, due to the metal frames and exterior paneling inherent to their design. This is why you can be driving your car in a lighting storm, and are still safe from being struck by lightning – if it did happen to strike your car, the high voltage current would distribute its charge across the entire outside surface of the metal panels, then pass into the ground below, while everything inside the car is completely unaffected.
It’s the same situation when you’re flying in an airplane. Did you know that lighting strikes airplanes all the time? Even if you fly a lot, you may not know this, because you are completely protected when you’re inside the plane, and likely wouldn’t even notice if your plane was struck! The outer “skin” of an airplane is primarily made of aluminum, which is highly conductive.
Microwave ovens are also Faraday cages, although they work in reverse by containing their electromagnetic energy inside the oven, so it won’t leak out and dissipate. Of course, we recommend never using microwave ovens to cook food, but if you have a microwave hanging around, you could always use it to store your sensitive electronics inside the unplugged device, to protect them from being harmed by natural or artificial electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) that can fry your technology!
There are also many uses for entire rooms that are Faraday cages: MRI rooms in hospitals are completely shielded to ensure that the high powered magnetic and radiofrequency diagnostic imaging won’t be contaminated with stray electromagnetic radiation from other sources. Militaries and governments use shielded bunkers and vehicles to safeguard critical systems from solar storms and manmade EMP attacks, and to protect sensitive communications from electronic eavesdropping. Science labs that perform rigorous clinical studies use fully shielded rooms to create a neutral testing environment, free of outside electromagnetic influences.
Power utility lineman who work with high voltage electricity and live wires wear special conductive (shielded) suits woven with ultra fine silver fibers, protecting them from potentially deadly electric shocks.
What are the limitations of Faraday cages and shielding?
When it comes to EMF protection applications, shielding and Faraday cages can offer some protection, under the right circumstances. However, there are some limitations that need to be considered, so you can use shielding methods appropriately, without deriving a false sense of security by believing you’re more fully protected than you are.
Faraday cages and shielding materials can only block or attenuate (reduce) some kinds of frequencies, and their effectiveness will also depend on the size of the holes in the material, and how much coverage the material gives to what you’re trying to protect.
The holes in the shielding materials have to be significantly smaller than the wavelength size of the frequencies they are designed to block, so higher frequencies (with shorter wavelengths) in the microwave and radiofrequency spectrum require extremely small holes, or a continuous material with no holes, to be blocked effectively. A traditional Faraday “cage”, or a mesh or a grid, may block the extremely low frequency (ELF) fields from your home electricity, but a cell phone signal will pass through it easily.
A full Faraday cage that completely surrounds a person or device, and which is made of solid, thick conductive metal, will offer fairly complete protection from measurable electromagnetic fields. It will keep all external electromagnetic fields on the outside, and all internal ones on the inside of the cage. If you invest in expensive shielding paint for your bedroom, and use several layers to ensure that the metal particulate in the paint is distributed as thoroughly as possible, and your room has no windows, then your cell phone or Wifi router should not work at all from within the room. If it does, you aren’t getting complete protection.
If you put a full Faraday cage over the top of your Wifi router or smart electric meter, those devices should no longer work at all, since they rely on wireless signal transmission to do their job. Likewise, if you store your cell phone in a shielded case, you should not be able to receive a call on your phone. It should render your wireless communication devices completely unusable. This is not practical or desirable, unless you just want to store your phone in a shielded case to protect it from an EMP (or for cybersecurity and privacy purposes) when you’re not using it.
To remain practical, most shielding products are not full Faraday cages. They are usually designed to block the frequencies on just one side of the device, which is often the side that touches your body, like with shielded phone cases. The actual protection you get from this kind of product is fairly low, and you would be better off keeping your phone further away from your body, or turning it on airplane mode (or off completely) if you have to carry it in your pocket. Likewise, Wifi and smart meter shields are made of metal mesh with tiny holes, so that most of the RF radiation is blocked, but there's still enough getting through so the devices can emit the RF fields needed to remain functional.
Clothing made from shielded materials, like woven silver fibers, offers somewhat more protection, as it will protect the body parts it covers from all ambient EMFs, not just your phone like a shielded phone case does. However, since your entire body is conductive, the ambient EMFs will still reach unprotected body parts and enter your body through your skin (since your pores act as antennas), traveling through your electromagnetically active nervous system. Our bodies are not just a bunch of separate parts, but are an integrated whole, so anything that affects one part of our body will ultimately affect our whole body. This is one reason you wouldn’t want to rely on shielded clothing as your primary form of EMF protection, but only as an adjunct to more complete forms of protection, like Blushield home and portable devices.
Another consideration with complete Faraday cages is that in addition to blocking the unwanted EMFs, they will also block a portion of the beneficial natural EMFs from the Earth and cosmos, including the Schumann resonances. These frequencies are considered essential to the health and natural rhythms of life on Earth, and we do not want to block them. Shielding materials won’t block the Earth’s magnetic field (since they cannot block static magnetic fields), but there is an entire symphony of natural beneficial frequencies that you won’t be able to benefit from if you’re inside a Faraday cage.
Shielding materials do not block scalar fields
There is one final consideration when it comes to the limitations of shielding, and is the most important one, in our opinion. Every measurable electromagnetic field that exists has both a transverse component and a scalar component. The transverse component of the EMF is the part that you can measure with an EMF meter. It is the part that exists materially in 3D space, and can be blocked by Faraday cages and shielding materials.
However, as we have discussed at length in previous articles, every EMF also has a scalar component, which could be described as the “essence” of the field, or the pure energy and potential behind the material manifestation of moving physical electrons. This pure energy moves through the space between atoms, so cannot be blocked by physical shielding materials. The scalar component of an EMF can also be considered to be an information field, containing the blueprint of whatever information the field is carrying or transmitting. Scalar fields are highly bioactive, affecting the body considerably more than the transverse, measurable, “block-able” portion of the field!
Scalar fields can be produced intentionally, or unintentionally as a byproduct of a transverse field. Manmade EMFs from wireless devices use a transverse carrier signal to transmit information, and the scalar component of this field is unintentionally transmitted as well, carrying biologically incoherent information that our bodies pick up on and react to. When we use shielding to block external EMFs, the scalar component of that EMF will still get through, and will still affect us.
While all measurable (transverse) fields have a scalar component, that is not the case with scalar fields. There can be “pure scalar” fields, which are pure informational/blueprint fields that aren’t bound by the same rules of space and time that physically manifest frequencies are subject to.
Blushield technology uses pure scalar as the carrier signal for its multiple waveform algorithms based on natural frequencies and patterns. This allows our bodies to perceive and entrain with these beneficial fields much more easily (since scalar is more bioactive), and the field is not limited by the properties of transverse fields, which lose power over distance and are easily blocked or attenuated by physical obstructions.
If you placed your Blushield inside of a full Faraday cage, it would still work just as well! Your body will still perceive the field. This would also be the case if you were inside a shielded room, and your Blushield was plugged in somewhere outside the room. Your body would still pick up on the field, even though the transverse carrier signals used by cell phones and Wifi would no longer get through.
Frequencies are everywhere, all the time
The truth is that we are in constant community with many types of frequencies, at all times, and we will be for our entire lives. Instead of trying to block out the frequencies around us, a more effective solution is to introduce an additional frequency field into our environment that is biologically coherent, which our bodies can then preferentially seek out and choose to resonate with.
The majority of us do not want to completely cut ourselves off from the outside world and try to live in a bubble, but would prefer to develop a healthy relationship with the world around us. Along with living comes exposure to many frequencies, including a variety of beneficial and harmful ones, and we just need the tools to maximize our resilience and vitality, so we can handle anything that comes our way in life with more ease.

Scalar Energy, Biology & Consciousness
As we move through our daily lives in the modern, high tech world we inhabit today, we are being exposed to electromagnetic fields from many different sources. The number of sources are increasing all the time, as we and those around us decide to incorporate new technologies into our lives for the sake of function, efficiency and convenience.
Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) can vary widely in their structure, intensity and frequency, depending on the technology used. The type of EMFs that cell phones, Wifi, smart meters, Bluetooth and other “smart” devices utilize is called radio-frequency radiation. This type of radiation is in the radio wave and microwave spectrum of hundreds of megahertz up to hundreds of gigahertz, and consists of wireless information packets being sent from a transmitting device to a receiving device, or back and forth between devices (like between cell towers and cell phones). Wireless radio-frequency radiation fills the ambient space that exists between the two communicating devices, and all life forms in that space can perceive these fields, and are affected by them.
Another type of EMF is the localized electric and/or magnetic fields produced by appliances that plug into the power mains of your home, office, school, or anywhere that utilizes electricity to power anything. This includes your TV, computer, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and even the home wiring itself. It includes space heaters, air conditioners, toasters, ovens, fans, and even your electric stove top.
These electric fields are highly localized to the device itself (and the power cord and wall power outlet), and do not travel very far into the ambient space like radio-frequency radiation does, because this EMF is just a byproduct of the device utilizing electricity, not a means to transmit information. The localized electric and magnetic fields from standard appliances in most cases drop down to almost zero when you move just 2 to 3 feet from the device. However, if you’re standing very close to the appliance, your body will be affected by this field to some extent.
High powered home devices can reach well beyond 1,000 volts per meter (abbreviated v/m) for electric fields, and well past 1,000 milligauss (mG) for magnetic fields. The strength of these fields is subject to the inverse square law, which basically means that as you move further away from a source of radiation, the intensity of the field drops exponentially. This is why they say “distance is your friend” when it comes to EMF exposure!
Although every powered appliance is going to have some degree of an electromagnetic field, there are some pretty vast differences when it comes to the intensity of the field, and the structure and makeup of it. Different EMF sources are going to affect your body in different ways. Some may only have minor effects on you under certain circumstances, and some can cause much more significant harm.
Let’s talk about all the wonderful appliances we use to cook our food! This is something we all have in common as humans – our kitchens are important to us, and many of us spend a lot of time there every day.
Did you know there are some cooking methods that pose little to no threat to our health and the quality of our food, while others literally derange the molecules and destroy nutrients in your food, all while exposing you and your family to harmful levels of radiation?
The health risks of microwave ovens
Let’s start with the most well established danger in most people’s kitchens: microwave ovens. Fortunately, these devices have been studied extensively for their effects on the quality, nutrient density and toxicity of the food cooked in them, as well as on life forms that consume that food, and even the effects of being in close proximity to these high powered devices.
Microwave ovens operate in the microwave segment of the electromagnetic spectrum, around 2.45 gigahertz – around the same frequency as Wifi. 2.45 gigahertz is 2.45 billion hertz, or 2.45 billion cycles per second. This means the frequency oscillation occurs over 2 billion times in one second, for every second your microwave is operating! This is happening inside of any food item you place in a microwave to cook or heat up.
The microwave itself is basically a Faraday cage that does not allow (most) of the radiation to leave the inside of the device, and concentrates on the inside. When you turn it on to heat up some food, this extremely intense level of radiation goes into the food, exciting the molecules in the food itself, over two billion times per second. Agitating the molecules of the food so intensely produces heat as a side effect, thereby “cooking” the food. It also tears the molecules apart and deforms them, and can even separate the charge of the atoms, causing them to lose electrons (ionize).
Ionizing atoms can produce free radicals, which are displaced electrons that aggressively seek out new atoms to attach to. They are unstable and highly reactive. In the body of living organisms, excess free radicals cause oxidative stress, which can lead to DNA damage and even cell mutation into malignant forms. If you’re consuming food that contains higher than usual amounts of free radicals, over a long period of time, this will not fare well for long term health.
The radiation from microwave ovens can cause a massive (as much as 60-90%) reduction of bioavailable nutrients in the food, including the B complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, and essential minerals. One study showed that microwaved broccoli lost 97% of its beneficial antioxidants, which makes sense considering antioxidants are neutralizers of free radicals. Broccoli that was steamed on a stove top only lost 11% of its antioxidants.
Microwaved milk loses most of its beneficial bacteria that normally keeps harmful bacteria in check, and that milk was found to be 18 times more susceptible to E.coli contamination than unheated raw milk. Microwaving meat causes the formation of well known carcinogens called d-Nitrosodienthanolamines, and microwaving vegetables turns many of their natural alkaloids into carcinogenic (cancer-causing) substances.
Several studies have been done showing live plants that were watered with microwaved (then cooled) water have stunted growth and poor health compared to plants that are watered using the same type of water that wasn’t microwaved – even if it was heated (then cooled) on a stove top first. Many people have reproduced the results of these studies in home based experiments, which have been widely shared on internet forums.
There have even been blood tests done on animals and humans fed microwaved food versus food cooked using other methods, and the blood of those who consumed microwaved food consistently showed a considerable reduction in blood hemoglobin, lower red blood cell count, and far more susceptibility to bacterial contamination. Studies where rats were fed microwaved food showed damage to the pancreas, and a drastic reduction of antioxidant enzyme activity in the brain and liver.
Another unacknowledged danger is the fact that the rubber seals on the doors of microwaves degrade over time, leaking larger amounts of microwave radiation as the device ages. If a person is standing near their microwave when it’s turned on, they may be exposed to levels of radiation thousands of times stronger than their cell phone or Wifi router, and well past even the conventionally accepted safety levels!
Sadly, all of this is still not common knowledge in the mainstream, and many people still use microwaves without any awareness of the potential dangers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that 90% of American households own a microwave. The information regarding its dangers has been available for decades now, but unfortunately is not being reported by governments or mainstream news outlets, and there haven’t been product recalls based on this information, so the majority of Americans still have no clue.
Safer cooking methods without sacrificing convenience
Although nothing is more convenient than popping a dish into a microwave oven and coming back to a fully cooked meal 2-10 minutes later, I think you would agree after considering all the above information about the dangers, this slight increase in convenience is not even remotely worth it!
If you’re used to using a microwave, it may take some initial effort to change your habits, but there are other methods you can use to accomplish the same goals without too much compromise to your time and energy.
Conventional electric stove tops do produce heat using electricity, but this will just show up as a localized electric field operating at the 60 hertz frequency of mains power. The ambient electric field will occupy the space that your food is being heated in, but only passively, and does not directly manipulate the food itself. Also, it is millions of times slower/lower of a frequency than what microwaves produce. Underneath your electric stove top is a coil that receives electrical power to heat up, and then the pot/pan and food is heated by the infrared heat emanating from the hot coil, not from the electromagnetic field itself. Infrared heat is the same energy that burning wood emits, as well as the heat that comes from the sun. As humans, we are much more adapted to this kind of ancient, primordial radiation than the artificial radiation sources of modern times.
This ambient, passive EMF exposure is not the case for a different type of stove called an induction cooktop. Besides microwave ovens, induction stoves are one of the few other cooking methods we would caution against, because of how they work to channel electrical energy directly into your cooking pot or pan, and the high (kilohertz) frequencies that are used. Conventional electric stoves emit heat as a byproduct of the electric field, whereas induction stoves include your metal pot or pan as an essential part of the electromagnetic circuit itself, channeling the EMFs directly into the pot, which then heats up and cooks your food. Because the pot/pan is part of the electric circuit in this case, you can only use cookware made of ferromagnetic (iron based) materials on induction stoves, whereas you can use any material cookware (including ceramic, clay and tempered glass) on regular stoves.
An extra risk to using induction cooktops is if you touch the handle of your pot while it’s on the stove, your body also becomes part of the electromagnetic circuit that’s heating the pot! Although it won’t noticeably shock you like touching a high voltage circuit, it will channel these kilohertz frequencies through your body, exposing you to the full EMF load the appliance is producing.
Back to electric stoves: if you’re used to heating up cold coffee in your microwave, it should be fairly easy to get into the habit of reheating your beverage in a small pot or teapot on your stove. You can also keep beverages warm for long periods of time in a thermos or insulated mug.
It’s equally simple to cook packaged soups, canned beans, and other healthy prepared foods on your stove instead of in your microwave. The “instant” microwaveable meals that are on the market are usually packaged in plastic, and that plastic leaches into your food as you cook it in your high powered microwave, contaminating your food with toxic, hormone disrupting chemicals… just another reason to give up that microwave for good!
Other convenient, moderate EMF quick cooking options include toaster ovens, air fryers and electric tea kettles. Air fryers utilize a unique cooking method of convection (moving and circulating) heat that creates a crispy and flavorful end product fairly quickly, whereas microwave ovens detrimentally affect both the flavor and texture of food.
Do we really need “smart” cooking appliances?
The biggest modern craze in mainstream homes is a “smart” everything: smart beds, smart doorbells, baby monitors, and even smart refrigerators, ovens, toasters and coffee makers! While some of these can have pretty major benefits (like wireless security cameras that are connected to your doorbell, which you can access anytime from your phone), most just seem like curiosities that may save a few minutes here and there, possibly at the expense of your long term health and well being.
Do you really need a coffee maker that will brew you a cup while you’re laying in bed playing with your coffee maker phone app, sending a Wifi signal through your house just so you don’t have to get up and do it yourself? Or a stove you can preheat from a wireless phone app while you’re on your way home from work? These things may not seem like a big deal, but every single “smart” appliance in your home produces its own little radio-frequency field, increasing the overall EMF pollution in your home. Your home is supposed to be a sanctuary of relaxation and recovery, but if your body is under constant low level stress from ambient EMFs from dozens of sources, it will be anything but that.
If you do have smart appliances, you could always just keep the Wifi setting disabled (or never set up the Wifi capabilities and app in the first place), and you should be safe from unwanted RF radiation.
The materials you cook with matter!
The materials of your cookware may not seem EMF related, but it’s important to understand that many EMF sensitive folks are also sensitive to other toxic environmental stressors, including chemicals that are commonly found in homes. Experts on the subject have found that if someone has Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), they are also very likely to be EMF hypersensitive. Reducing chemical exposure in the home as much as possible will take a large burden off these peoples’ extra sensitive systems, making it easier for them to deal with the stress from EMFs that they can’t control nearly as easily.
Avoiding any cookware that’s promoted as “non-stick”, as well as aluminum cookware, is a good start. Many pans, rice cookers, crock pots and other ceramic cookware are coated with a non-stick surface, which is usually a polymer coating called PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). When heated to high temperatures, this coating can break down and release toxic fumes, and become infused into the food you eat. It’s better to create a natural non-stick surface on your pans by cooking with healthy oils. You can replace aluminum baking dishes with stainless steel or glass.
A wonderful alternative to chemical glazed crock pots and rice cookers is a high tech, powerful product on the market called VitaClay, which cooks food in a non-toxic, unglazed clay pot. Instead of chemical glazing, the clay is sealed using a very high temperature water glazing process. The clay cooking pot can improve the quality, texture and flavor of your food, and can cook using a wide range of methods and types of meals. It preserves nutrients much better than a pressure cooker, and cooks food about four times faster than a crock pot or slow cooker.
Zero EMF cooking methods
In the modern, convenience-focused homes most of us live in, being exposed to a certain level of EMFs from our cooking appliances is almost inevitable. However, there are a few cooking methods that are good to know about, if you live a less conventional and more earth-based lifestyle, or strive to in the future! These technologies can even be implemented in a modern home, with the right planning and expertise. If you are highly EMF sensitive and want to remove EMFs from your life as much as possible, these are options to seriously consider.
One zero EMF cooking appliance that’s still fairly prevalent is the gas powered stove. Many older houses still use gas ranges, which produce no electromagnetic fields, as the food is heated by the infrared heat byproduct of the gas fueled flame. Propane stoves are another option, and are generally safer to use than gas stoves. Propane also heats faster and uses less fuel than gas.
Moving closer to an earth-based lifestyle, there are wood stoves and rocket stoves, which are heated using firewood. There are some very smart and strategic designs out there that maximize function, efficiency and aesthetics. Well designed rocket stoves, in particular, are extremely efficient in combusting almost all the fuel from the wood with the absolute minimum production of smoke and soot. They can serve multiple vital functions in a home – acting as an efficient cooking surface that uses locally sourced renewable materials (firewood), as well as a powerfully effective way to heat your home in the colder seasons that can replace electric and gas heating in the right circumstances, even in the coldest of climates!
The radiation from wood fires is a full spectrum light and heat source (especially infrared) that’s very healthy for the body, as long as exposure to smoke (from incomplete combustion) is avoided.
Conclusion
Considering how much time most of us spend in the kitchen, especially those who value wholesome, home cooked meals, we think it’s important to have an understanding of the electromagnetic exposure levels and types we are getting from the various ways we prepare our food, so we can cook more consciously.
Although most types of cooking methods will expose us to some ambient electric and magnetic fields, there are definitely ways to minimize exposure, especially by reducing or eliminating radiofrequency/microwave radiation from our kitchens. Those who are EMF sensitive will appreciate knowing about ways to keep their food as nutrient dense, healthy and low EMF as possible.
You are what you eat – if you’re eating food that’s exposed to intense EMFs, that will definitely affect and alter the digestibility, nutrient density and toxicity of that food.
You will almost definitely still have exposure to some localized electric and magnetic fields in your kitchen. If you consider your overall EMF exposure, and choose a Blushield home model that’s the appropriate strength for your living situation, these low frequency, localized exposures can become a non-issue for most people.
We want to help you make your home into the sanctuary it is supposed to be!

All living organisms are bioelectric in nature. Humans, animals, insects, plants and even microscopic organisms generate weak electric and magnetic fields that are essential to performing the constant tasks that keep the organism alive and responding intelligently to its environment. We are electromagnetic because the Earth itself is electromagnetic, and our bodies are composed entirely from Earth materials. The rhythms, melodies and harmonies of life can be seen as an electromagnetic interaction between all living things.
If this “Divine design” is interfered with, it can disorient and even put a halt to these intricate biological processes, and create chaos on a microscopic and macroscopic level. “Disorient” is a good word for this, because many species literally rely on the orientation of the Earth’s magnetic field for daily and seasonal navigation. This is especially the case for bees and migrating birds, for whom natural magnetism is the primary force that informs their movement.
Even humans, who rarely think of themselves as electric or magnetic, are influenced by external electromagnetism. There have been fascinating studies done by blindfolding humans and keeping them in a dark room on a swivel chair, spinning the chair around and then asking them to point in the direction of north. If the room was shielded (blocking out the Earth’s magnetic field), they were unable to reliably determine direction. If it was a normal room with no shielding (though completely dark to remove light cues), astonishingly, a statistically significant percentage were able to accurately point towards magnetic north.
As humans, our minds and beliefs often get in the way of instincts and “innocent perception”, and we lose the ability to directly perceive subtle energies in the way that animals can. There is a small but significant subset of humans who can still perceive these things. Their bodies are more sensitive, and speak loudly over any mental interference that may be present, to deliver a message that needs to be heard. These people are the “canaries in the coal mine”, so to speak. We would do well to pay attention to them – because their stories need to be heard and believed, for one thing, but just as importantly, because they may be informing us about something that is harming every single one of us even if we aren’t aware of it!
What is electromagnetic hypersensitivity?
“All over the world, electro-hypersensitive people are hiding in the most remote, isolated, forgotten and desperate places. It is towards these sensitive human beings that I will ask you on June 16, 2022 to show solidarity and to carry the voice of those who can no longer do so by showing your support for this cause that concerns us all!”
This is a statement on the website for the World EHS Day, which is being recognized for the 5th year in a row this June 16th, 2022.
Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is also known as microwave syndrome, or radiation sickness. There is no set of specific, definite symptoms that all EHS sufferers will experience. This is because EMFs affect the body as a whole, and the symptoms generally show up where any individual body has a genetic weakness or injury. Common symptoms include headaches, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, disturbed sleep, tinnitus, heart irregularities, brain fog and digestive issues. It may be very difficult to determine that these symptoms are caused by EMFs and not something else, since any one of these symptoms could have a variety of causes. The main telling factor for EHS sufferers is that they feel worse, and their symptoms increase, in the presence of higher levels of EMFs, or around specific EMF sources with fields that may be especially triggering for that individual, like Wifi, smart meters or high voltage power lines.
A conservative estimate is that 5-10% of the world population suffers from mild to extreme EHS. Some speculate that it may be closer to 20% of the population, especially considering everyone who has a multitude of chronic “mystery” symptoms who do not know about the dangers of electromagnetic fields, and therefore could not even consider that as the root cause.
Most of the time, EHS sufferers have other health issues and are sensitive to other environmental exposures as well. Many of them have Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), which means they are sensitive to substances that contain chemicals, including cleaning products, personal care products, pesticides, herbicides, air pollution, smoke, and more. They may also have a chronic health issue like Lyme disease or a chronic viral infection, and likely heavy metal toxicity. These issues will increase sensitivity and vulnerability to electromagnetic fields. EHS and its combination of co-factors results in severely limiting what that person can do in the world, as so many things set them off.
Although the creators of World EHS Day strongly encourage informing as many people as possible about the harms of electromagnetic fields, the day was not intended to be an EMF awareness activism day, but specifically to raise awareness about electro hypersensitivity. This is because many of these sensitive people have had to remove themselves from society, so can’t speak about their experience. They can’t spend time in population dense areas, and many of them have little to no tolerance for computer or online activity, even limiting their ability to share on online platforms.
What can you do to raise awareness?
The World EHS Day website has some great suggestions for raising awareness in the general public about something that’s affecting all of us, even though it’s invisible. Although these people feel extreme effects from this harmful environmental element, that doesn’t mean that everyone who feels nothing is immune. Electromagnetic fields have detrimental effects on ALL life forms! As EMF sources and levels increase over time, which is definitely happening all throughout the developed world in an exponential way, more and more people are going to start to feel it, and some will even become debilitated by it.
Now is the time to become aware of the issue, so we can begin reducing our exposure by cultivating good “EMF hygiene”, strengthening our resilience with nutrition and lifestyle changes, and using high quality devices like Blushield to give the body a healthier frequency field to anchor to, reducing the effects of the EMFs.
Here are some ways you can increase awareness in the general public on World EHS Day:
• placing a yellow chair (or a mannequin with a yellow t-shirt) in the middle of populated areas with a sign indicating the ambient EMF levels (which you can test with an EMF meter), symbolizing the absence of the EMF sensitive person who would otherwise be present
• carrying yellow signs at social and cultural gatherings that explain what happened to them and why they are not there
• posting these actions on social media
The goal is to make the invisible visible. Most people have no clue that they are surrounded by manmade, incoherent electromagnetic fields. These frequency fields weaken ALL living organisms in a general way, and are one of the triggering factors of multiple pathologies.
How can EHS sufferers heal and recover?
Although the healing process can be complex and prolonged, many EHS sufferers have found relief by minimizing exposure while simultaneously increasing resilience through nutrition and lifestyle changes, and introducing Blushield home and portable devices into their lives.
Cultivating “EMF hygiene”, such as never talking with a cell phone up to your head or keeping your phone against your body, turning off Wifi when you’re not using it, or having your smart meter replaced with an analog or older digital meter, can go a long way. Many EMF sensitive people find ways to replace their Wifi with a wired connection, and their cell phone with a land line, which are ways to considerably reduce your EMF exposure.
Gentle but effective heavy metal detox will remove toxic concentrations of heavy metals from the body. Excess metals that are not being used by the body, and are stuck in the tissues in a state of positive charge (rather than the neutral salt form of the minerals the body is utilizing), act as an antenna for ambient EMF. Reducing metal loads makes you a weaker antenna, which is what you want.
Improving overall organ and mitochondrial function with nutrition, targeted supplementation and healthy lifestyle changes is a powerful element in the healing process. Ensuring adequate magnesium status (to act as a natural calcium channel blocker, decreasing EMF reactivity), as well as overall body mineralization is essential to keeping the cells and mitochondria functioning optimally. This can be achieved through a nutrient rich diet and targeted supplementation. On top of that, adding in adaptogenic herbs like chaga (and other medicinal mushrooms), schizandra and many others are a powerful way to increase resilience to all of life’s stressors, natural and artificial.
Introducing a high quality active scalar device like Blushield, to give the body a healthy, biologically coherent frequency field to anchor to, can significantly reduce the harmful effects of EMFs. Our bodies are accustomed to the infinitely varied coherent fields that exist in nature, and this external frequency field keeps our own bodies regulated and functioning optimally. The problem is that the harmful EMFs are considerably stronger in amplitude than the natural background EMFs, drowning them out.
Blushield produces an infinitely varied (never repeating the same frequencies at the same amplitude more than once) frequency field based on the known patterns of nature, but at a higher amplitude, so the body can perceive the field and anchor to it. Blushield home and portable devices can be used as a powerful tool for healing EHS. We have many customers who suffer from EHS, who have been desperate for answers, whose lives have changed once they started using Blushield. Let’s take a day this week to raise awareness about electromagnetic hypersensitivity, its insidious and all-pervasive cause, and the helpful solutions that are now available to relieve the suffering of so many!
What we know of as electromagnetic waves, with their measurable frequencies and properties that are considered to be widely known in modern science, are just the tip of the iceberg. What the vast majority of sources refer to as electromagnetic fields are acknowledging only one part of the field, known as the transverse component.
Transverse refers to the up-and-down, oscillating motion of the wave, and if we could see it with our eyes, it would look “wavy”. Transverse waves contain an electric field that moves up and down, and each up/down cycle moves at a certain speed, depending on the frequency (cycles per second, or hertz). For example, a 60 hertz frequency (like mains electricity in our houses) would contain 60 of these up/down cycles per second. This oscillating electric field always produces a resulting magnetic field, which occurs perpendicular to the electric field – moving side to side, instead of up and down. Transverse waves, as the materially manifest motion of photons (a form of light), move at the speed of light.
These transverse waves are not the only energy that makes up each electromagnetic field. There is also a part of the field called the scalar component, also called a longitudinal wave.
For a basic primer on scalar energy, including the history of its discovery and use, potential future uses, and especially how it relates to electromagnetic fields and EMF protection, please read our first article on the subject: Scalar Energy & EMFs – What You Need To Know
If you already have a basic understanding about scalar, and are curious to take a deeper dive into this fascinating subject, then this article is for you. We will be covering more detailed mechanics and behavior of scalar fields, and then go into how it relates to our own biology, and even consciousness and awareness itself.
The nature and behavior of scalar fields
The most peculiar thing about longitudinal waves is they do not exist in a “normal”, physically manifest sense, in what we know as 3D space. Although our modern EMF meters cannot measure scalar energy, the phenomenon can be documented in other ways, through the effects it has in the material world.
Let’s compare longitudinal waves to transverse waves, to see how they’re different. First of all, some scientists and engineers who study scalar do not like using the term “wave” for this energy field, because it does not act like what we think of as a wave. However, based on the standard physics definition of a wave, it definitely is one: “A disturbance traveling through a medium by which energy is transferred from one particle of the medium to another without causing any permanent displacement of the medium itself.”
There are other scientists and engineers who do not agree with using the term scalar for this energy field. However, we think this term is acceptable, and can be correctly used because a scalar (in physics) is a quantity that is fully described by magnitude alone, versus a vector quantity, which includes both a magnitude and a direction.
Since scalar waves do not move in a specific direction in 3D space, they cannot be a quantified as a vector, like transverse waves can. This is why they’re also sometimes called standing waves – because they appear to “stand” in the same space, without moving in any direction.
However, scalar waves DO move, in a very unique way. Beyond our three dimensional, material world, time itself is referred to as the 4th dimension. Obviously, as we all know instinctively, time has a profound effect on three dimensional space. Time is not part of 3D space, even though 3D space couldn’t exist without it, which we could call spacetime: “the concepts of time and three-dimensional space regarded as fused in a four-dimensional continuum.”
Scalar/longitudinal waves move along the axis of time itself, which you can understand intuitively by the fact that the field persists as time goes on.
These “waves” do not move in the same up/down motion as transverse waves. As the term longitudinal suggests, they move parallel to the direction of propagation, not perpendicular to it. There are variations in the energy density as the wave moves through time, which can be defined as compressions (when the energy becomes denser and closer together) and rarefactions (when the energy becomes less dense and further apart).
You could think of these compressions and rarefactions, moving through time, like the beating of a heart (with its contractions and dilatations) or the rhythm of our breath. A longitudinal wave can be described as a pulse perturbation (a small disturbance), referring to the rhythmic compression and expansion of the energy as it persists through time.
There are ways to generate scalar fields intentionally for specific purposes. A pure scalar field without the transverse component is automatically created anytime two electromagnetic waves that are in exactly the opposite phase (but same frequency and amplitude) meet, thereby canceling each other out. This creates a vortex effect, imploding the charge into its longitudinal orientation. This process of combining two exact mirror image waves (that are 180 degrees out of phase with each other) can be called phase conjugation.
Scalar energy and living biology
All life forms produce their own electromagnetic energy, which couples with (and guides) the chemical messengers in the nervous system, in what could be considered a living electrochemical system. This system runs every single function of our bodies, including growth, healing, and even regeneration in certain instances. This bioelectricity can be measured with extremely sensitive instruments, at levels millions of times more subtle than what a conventional EMF reading tool could pick up.
Robert O. Becker’s revolutionary book, The Body Electric, documents the fascinating discovery process and the many experiments that were done in the ‘60s and ‘70s to dig deeper into living biology and its ever present electromagnetism, establishing with certainty that we are electrical beings.
Even with all the questions that are answered, and the many ‘aha!’ moments, the book leaves readers with a sense of wonder and mystery at the complexity of life, and Becker often marveled at the mysteries that still remained. Interestingly, with his focus on measurable frequencies (even with extremely sensitive instruments), it’s very likely he was not at all aware of the scalar aspect of electromagnetism. It’s not a long stretch to postulate that most (or all) of the questions he left unanswered could be answered somewhere in scalar science.
According to Patrick Flanagan (a scientist and inventor), “the living system is infinitely more responsive to scalar signals.” This is likely due to the predominance of scalar in our own biology, compared to the extremely small emissions of measurable, transverse fields. Scalar emitted by biological organisms is called bioscalar, and occurs widely throughout nature. Just as scalar fields can be generated intentionally by devices producing opposite phase EM waves that meet and cancel each other out, this also occurs naturally when similar frequency waves in the environment meet from two different vectors.
Lt. Col. Thomas Bearden, one of the most well known scalar scientists of our time, believed that the scalar energy in living organisms resides in the nucleus of the atom, and is a repository for information. Human thought emits various complex frequencies that alter the electrical signals in the brain and body. Our thoughts and intentions may be working directly with the scalar energy inside our atomic nuclei, by changing the information frequencies that our scalar fields hold, which ripples out to affect our body as a whole. There are many examples of healers doing “impossible” things (according to the modern medical system), just by directing their thoughts and intentions in skillful ways.
A study that was done that applied longitudinal fields to plants, designed by scalar energy expert Konstantin Meyl, found that the ones exposed to the field showed increased ATP levels and extended lifespans, compared to the control group.
The nervous system, electricity, and human regeneration
The body’s electrochemical system is extremely sensitive. As you already know if you have read our educational material about the harms of manmade repetitive EMF sources, one notable harmful effect of EMFs is increased incidence of certain types of cancer. These aren’t just any types of cancer – by far the most common cancers that have been found from excessive, prolonged use of cell phones is gliomas of the brain, and Schwannomas of the heart.
As Becker found through experimentation, and detailed in his book, all nerve cells are surrounded by protective sheaths. It was previously believed that these sheaths only provided insulation and protection, but it turns out that the sheath cells that surround the nerve cells are the exact location of the electrical currents that move through the nervous system. These nerve sheath cells are called glial cells in the brain and central nervous system, and Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system. Therefore, it’s no surprise, and certainly not a coincidence, that most of the cancers from overexposure to EM radiation specifically arise in the cells where the body’s own electricity moves.
Becker’s most pressing unanswered question seems to be how to induce considerable regenerative capability in the human body. Some animals naturally have pretty extraordinary regenerative abilities, such as salamanders, newts and zebrafish, but in all experiments so far, humans don’t seem to have this capability in more than very limited circumstances.
Scalar energy and human consciousness
Although much of modern science wants to view the body as a machine, with many separate parts, and consciousness itself as an unknown (or as a random occurrence), it is clear that biology and consciousness are intricately linked, and even one and the same: the bodymind.
Patrick Flanagan found that IQ is a measure of neural efficiency, which is reflected by the phase difference between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. The higher the IQ, the less of a phase difference.
Meditation, which is known to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain, is said to increase wisdom, discernment, full spectrum intelligence (meaning logical as well as emotional), and other noble human qualities. It may be that the synchronization of the brain hemispheres creating a scalar field is the underlying mechanism of how meditation “works”!
Semiconductor properties of biology
There are three known types of electrical conduction: metallic (electrons traveling along a wire), ionic (movement of charged atoms in an electrolyte solution), and semiconduction. Semiconduction is the most recently discovered, and by far the most complex and versatile. It involves lattices made of certain crystals/minerals. The lattices contain either an excess of electrons (for N-type) or an excess of holes in the lattice (for P-type), and if these materials are combined with other substances to increase efficiency and versatility, they will conduct electricity by exchanging electrons through the lattices in an organized, intelligent way.
Our modern electronics would not exist without solid state (semiconducting) technology, including modern computers, cell phones, and any technology that utilizes transistors or integrated circuits. Silicon and germanium are two examples of semiconducting minerals – hence, the name Silicon Valley as the U.S. mecca of modern computing technology.
According to Becker, nearly all organic matter exhibits all the hallmarks of semiconduction: piezoelectricity (converts mechanical stress into electrical energy), organization, information processing, regeneration and rhythm. In nature, there are species of bacteria which act as semiconductors, like filamentous cable bacteria. In animals like salamanders with strong regenerative capabilities, the site of regeneration, called the neuroepidermal junction, produces healing electrical currents in the same manner as the P/N junction of a semiconductor.
Since our bodies are composed of many different minerals (among many other components), and we require continuous replenishing of our mineral reserves through our diet to stay healthy, it makes sense that a mineral-rich system as complex as our own biology would utilize an electrical system far more versatile and sensitive than the more simplistic metallic or ionic forms of electrical transmission.
Indeed, biological systems are so complex, and capable of functions we are just beginning to become aware of; it has also been discovered that a variety of living matter has exhibited properties of superconduction at room temperature. This is interesting and extraordinary, as superconductive processes are almost always found to require near zero (extreme cold) temperatures. Superconduction is when a specific material conducts an electric current with no resistance/impedance, and therefore can continue indefinitely, as long as the proper conditions are maintained. This leads one to wonder about the role of bioscalar in the instances of superconduction in living matter, since scalar longitudinal waves are characterized by not being hindered by physical matter, and not losing power over distance – which can result in overunity processes, a.k.a. “free” energy.
In the past, almost all intentionally generated scalar fields were produced using metallic antenna and coil devices. This certainly works, and there are several working models available to reproduce for anyone interested and willing to put in the work. However, semiconductor type devices can also be used to create scalar fields, although this is a much newer type of technology.
Blushield scalar EMF protection devices use semiconductor light-emitting diodes to produce the biologically active scalar field. This method is more sophisticated, versatile, and efficient than the past methods using high voltage and coils. It may also be a lot more similar to our own biologically produced scalar fields than the older scalar generating devices, as well.
One thing we know for sure is that scalar science is a field full of vast potential, and will very likely be explored in much more depth as humans continue to seek out novel, efficient, sustainable solutions to our modern problems. We certainly find it fascinating, and are really looking forward to seeing how this field of study evolves over the next few years and decades.
